"When you have at least 2 years service with Royal Mail Group, a good performance record, good attendance and conduct record, you can apply for a career break. A career break can normally be for up to 3 years. However, in certain circumstances, it may be possible to extend this. During a career break you will be required to work for a minimum of 2 weeks, for which you'll receive your normal pay. Royal Mail Group guarantees the right for you to return to your Area or Business unit at your former or equivalent grade. Other conditions may apply but generally the process is simple, so just chat to your manager who will provide you with further details."
