At least five Reps I've spoken to have said the figures show they need hours invested, but it ain't going to happen(maybe I,m too cynical).Area.Divisional and HQ are all aware of this but there's nothing going to change anytime soon.

The bottom line is; ,if your revision will slash hours It will be implemented,if it doesn't it won't.Or as a DSM said "There's no value in it for me".

Despite the fact that most "individual offices membership" have absolutely no training or guidance on the implications of the model week.
I know HQ like to pass the buck down to the front line but this is taking decidophobia to a new level.
Is it any wonder people leave the union? Here there is a paid for service to manage membership affairs and at the end of the day they say - it's best you decide for yourself. It's like going into the chippy and having the bloke sling a cod and a spud at you and saying - here's your fish and chips and it'll be a fiver thanks.
Right about now i would like the option of negotiating the pegasus inputs localy.
Especically the attendance calls, which i work out that they are giving us 24 secounds each for. well thats if we still get 7 secounds at each door.
what they have given us with one hand (slightly slower walk speeds) they have taken away with the other (less time to perform stationary tasks). :evil/mad

Btw dingo joined in this thread in a constructive manner.
I was glad of his input soooo feel a wee bit bad that he's getting a hard time for it. :Boo hoo!
That the agreement is s**t! i agree 100%

Well lets just say that comrade Bob does not fill me with much hope of my managing to reach retirement age. However the death in service coup does look like an increasingly canny move  :cry

Is the high EP just on the prep and IPS in your office or is the high EP for the office as a whole?
Noticed Tamsky on here posted a letter questioning offices with high EP because the figures achieved where due to bad
practice etc.

All i know is my office is apparently at 88% EP and we got people running about like muppets, well over half are in early
and some of them are in 2 hours early, loads use their car,no bag weights are recorded or any allowance for weights on stairs, loads of dodgy stuff going on-drivers not attempting delivery for 3 days and just stick notice left cards in posties frame for packets, blind eye turned to many issues by senior union reps etc etc,so we are are achieving 88% by cutting
corners and therefor saving royal mail docket money and clearing the mail most days..

So when i hear of offices that are achieving 130 BSI
i find it hard to imagine how the f**k that is possible,im not questioning that your story is true because my area
rep mentioned to me that there was an office at 130 bsi and still lapsing but im sure in like for like comparisons of offices somethings nae right somewhere.

Belle I have no problem being the scapegoat for most of the posters. Its only a pity some of these dont argue as strongly with their doms about issues which effect them.

Equally I would state that why is it that most posters on one hand state they dont trust the union over the last two agreements but want the same headquarters to resolve everything including the model week etc nationally ?

The fact is that any national agreement on the model week will not suit everyone and will make some happy and some not. Yes winners and losers. For everyone who would want the model week to be based on a higher traffic week there are loads who would not want to absorb on a daily basis. Or have to make more fixed cost savings.

If you staff your office on a lower basis your walk log should have that traffic figure on it and if the traffic for that day is over than you should not be absorbing.

Now lets examine why some offices are protentially working harder than others , some will be coming in earlier or cutting corners , some will have possibly been cut in the past and have been working harder to achieve it.

A lot of offices have secondary sorting which is distoriting the producitivity under the roof. Equally a lot of offices are not imputing lasped hours into the IWT which will make a big difference in perfromance under the roof and the IWT output.

Finally the upper decile packs are flawed as it matches offices into metro , surburban , rural , town etc. However comparing offices is fraught as some areas may deliver to terrace houses whilst others delivering to houses with long paths. Pairing offices with house density and then using that as a productive measure which Royal mail wish to do is unfair and unacceptable and the union must oppose. The agreement talks about comparing offices on a like for like basis. This does not do this in any way.

Our office EP is usually around 100,but the figures quoted were for actual traffic figures for a week input into IWT.The sorting rates used were the agreed ones giving a throughput of 12(I think) items a minute. Our traffic recording is probably more accurate than some,as we count every tray, every day.

Our manager printed a list of the duties with "prep time at target performance rate"and most of our duty holders manage it.

Our office never had an effectual rep until recently and we've cut hours every year for years, and now most people go over Wednesday to Saturday(2-4hours).The only day we ever lapse or absorb is Monday(only one lorry).

I suppose we're already doing what Royal Mail want everywhere.i.e.Flexing up.Its not a lot of fun anymore!

When you's go over Wednesday through to Saturday, what happens if you want to cut off and refuse overtime?
