If you stand on a picket line - that's picketing.
When the council staff were on strike and our drivers refused to cross the picket line to deliver mail I don't remember anyone being conducted for "secondary picketing".
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I doubt you'd even see their picket line to be able to not cross it

Oh yes and I for one will never cross a picket line, I just cant help sticking to my principles. :no no
So you don't think they'll be able to find enough strike breakers to keep some (but obviously not all) sites open? :hmmmm
But it IS good to hear from someone else, who puts their morals above scoring points. :Applause :Applause There seem to be far too many, looking forward to the chance to cross Manager's Picket Lines. And I pity them. To have such weak moral fibre, that they'd resort to crossing Picket Lines, simply because the Managers did it to us. :no no :no no
Weak moral fibre?
You be a doormat, if that's what floats your boat, but I will do unto others, exactly what they did to me, and I will lose not one iota of sleep over it. Thank you. :Very Happy
Weak moral fibre i don't think so :speak to the hand .... Weak is someone who doesn't take the opportunity to do unto others as they do unto you.... RM managers have taken every opportunity to break every CWU strike we have ever had, i.e transporting unscrupulous charecters in backs of vans to cross our lines, rewarding at a local level strike breakers etc etc..... Lets get it right here we are not on about defending fellow posties jobs here, these are the people who implement un workable practises sent from above cause the don't have the guts to protest, bully and harras our colleagues on occasion, set up special deals with brown nosers putting constant pressure on those of us who do our jobs properly to come in early, do the job in our car etc, because Joe soap does and is quicker than you :no no :no no .... Bring it on i say i'll be laughing my cork eye out when i go in to work, and if they break any picket rules i'll report them in the same manner they tried to do to me..... All pie in the sky CAUSE IT WON'T HAPPEN, they don't have the guts

Tbf guys unless you work in one of the admin places or HQ you aint going to see any picket lines.
It is not DOM' s,linos and the like.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Even if it was frontline managers.....
The reality is....they crossed our picket line to protect their bonuses which makes them greedy, untrustworthy, unscrupulous bastards.
What would we be achieving by crossing theirs....sticking two fingers up at them?
I honestly don't think they would give a s**t.

We'll never see the day,we'll never have the chance regardless of what way we would go.

I know you're trying to remind everyone that what might happen probably won't affect us - but I think some are savouring the possibility of a frontline screw picket line in the same way they would savour a Lottery rollover jackpot win ( and personally thinking, if not posting, about the slim chance of a lineo strike is tempting :shhhhh )

I think that even if it was managers in all parts of the business to be asked to go out it just would not happen, last time they did was the most laughable situation i have seen the office ran like clock work,i feel sad in away that it has come to this from what was such a great company but the company is top heavy in managers and very light in postal staff,in the few years i have done i have seen an increase in the number of managers on the floor so it begs the question how many have we around the company who really could be used else where or asked to consider finding another vocation in life?i am sorry it also begs the question here,How many managers produce something in this company?if a manager is not here what does it affect?if a postman/women is not here a delivery does not go out or a machine is not manned or your a member of staff short on the outward or secondary sorting, collection not done or a lorry dont go then it would be a problem,i hate to blow our trumpet but we as postal staff are very vital to the business because without us the managers no matter which part they belong to would not be needed,as for going over a picket line when i saw some of the smarmy faced fools do thier matcho act i dont have a sorry feeling in my body if it was a council worker or a care worker a nurse a fire fighter someone who if not there would cause massive problems i would support them with my whole heart and sole.

May be they could take redundancy and go into the banking industry, imagine what a state the country would be in then? Ah, I wondered where the last lot of redundant rm mangers went.

With respect Postman, thats not quite true, all RM CMA members are too be balloted, and if there is a yes vote for IA then all of their members will be asked too contribute unless of course selective action ie Payroll staff to go out one day, H&S another.

Its no different to any other national action, once an affirmative vote is garnered then all action upto and including asking all members to withdraw their labour can be considered.

In a nutshell we may see a picket line at our offices.

For those who're trying to delude themselves, that they wouldn't have to compromise their morals to cross CMA Picket Lines. How would you handle this situation?
A paricular section of society steals from you, and gets away with it (for whatever reason). Does that give you the moral right to steal from them? :hmmmm

I'm not suggesting that we should stand with them. Far from it. They've gone to geat lengths to undermine our disputes. So if there's no Picket Line, I'll carry on as normal. But if there IS a Picket Line (any Picket Line anywhere!), I WILL NOT CROSS IT!

As others have already pointed out: Morals don't just change to suit the situation. You can't pick and choose when to follow them. :hmmmm

Ask the Burslem & Bristol comrades about dubious morals crossing managers picket lines.
I am sure some of them IF THEY HAD THE CHANCE would share your view :mad

What if they didn't guarantee not to stage warn anyone who doesn't cross a picket line? They'd probably be stage warning people for not crossing their picket lines
