Many Thanks
You are allowed to keep the mail for your next delivery point out of sight in the footwell of the passenger seat.
Yes....... IB will "do you" if they see mail in plain sight and unattended.
You are not, that has changed Fish, something to do with PostCon.Was changed within the last year or two.
It is on the site somewhere.
Interesting, i told the manager about this a couple of months ago, so he shat himself and passed it to some head somewhere in writing, funny enough still waiting for a response.
Secondly the manager has just tried to place more delivery on rural drivers, i said to him that they have told me that they will just do the job properly (no witnesses). Then they will be over time nearly everyday. His response - if they come back later than they are now i will assume that at the minute they are not doing the job properly and i will conduct every last one of them, err.... didnt expect that one.

Which one are they? Nothing should be used where the mail can be seen.
We've got 2 or 3 combis that have rear side windows instead of solid panels, I assumed they were pretty common.
We're not allowed to use them on evening collections for security reasons, yet its perfectly acceptable to use them on deliveries!
In my old office, there are a couple of vans with 5 seats so they can take other posties out, drop them off etc and bring them back again. Not quite van sharing as they had bag drops. That's just how they're accelerated out there.
However, these vans have windows etc in them and, once you've got 2 passengers, and all the mail for the 3 of you to deliver, it's over the recommended weight as advised on the stickers stuck on the bit above the glove box in the van...
Mail is in full view when van is left unattended and they technically shouldn't be used to take that many people and that much mail out so what use are they?!
Ron he's bluffing he can't do f**k all to them anyway,i've been there done it got the t-shirt ect ect.Get the cretin to test the duties.
Wacko refuse to use them, the fact they are not allowed to use them on colections is enough ammo for you.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
rockypostie wrote:So you not even allowed mail to your next drop in the front of your van anymore? any document what states this???
Don't worry about it,you carry on as your are.

You should not be using a 'mini bus' for delivery or collections!
we've used crew buses for delivering for years.if they tried it on for any reason you just point out that the equipment they provide you to do the job is not fit for purpose and it is their problem not yours.
who the hell invests £2 billion into a servic and makes it worse?????????????
you really couldn't make it up!!!!!!!!!!!

That has been the case for a long time...but that's not the question.
The question is can you take the mail for your next delivery point into the front of the van with you?

My understanding is your working bundle only is allowed in the front but you must take it with you when you get out of the van to deliver.

Hi DOM how's tricks.
Ok the answer is NO people,a plain and simple NO!
Nothing in the front at all.
I got pulled by the IB for having empty bags in the back seat of a Maxus!
It's dangerous on all counts anyway.
