Started a new duty last week so am not yet up to speed but finally got a result when I walked in this morning. The whole duty was already prepped in the frame. Great I thought, chance to get out and finish early. Didn't look too heavy either. Turns out the council had decided to pick that day to send out a blitzkrieg of mail to every council tenant on the duty. The doors to doors and tv license letters to the empty houses filled any remaining gaps. Ended up delivery to just about every bleeding door. And it rained. Feck.

There was pretty much no mail at our place today. Yet whoever was throwing my walk out still only did half. I even found two actual bundles thrown in to the missorts tray, to go with the three I found on the fitting (to go with the fifty-odd missorts themselves). It's pretty bad, that. It doesn't amuse me at all. I'm not really asking for the whole thing to be thrown out, just most of it. That would be a start.

Loads on our section today extra half hour on sorting.Back from hols this week to recordeds from sat left on frame and a whole week of kill offs to do.

No...just a little disappointed and wet.
...and the pockets in the trousers are only an inch deep so you can't even adjust your "junk"(as i believe the kids call it now).

Out for 09.40 and first letter at 09.50 Last letter at 13.20. Everything delivered. Surpirised by that since we had mail left over from Saturdays breakdown.

08:30, still waiting for the walk sequenced mail to arrive. Liverpool mail center now closed so we have to wait for vans to take the mail from warrington to a site in south Liverpool, then wait for another van to collect it from there and bring it to our office, 'IN RUSH HOUR'. Whose clever idea was to do that? Not only does this mail get held up in the city center but it has to 'trugg along' the M62 from Warrington in heavy traffic.

dead light today, did lapsing, came back, everyone else has left, immediately set upon by driver asking how long til my bags are ready, Didnt know the walk well so didnt know where the splits for bag boxes were, driver couldnt hang around so left. No d2d prepped, had to find the guy who covered day off yesterday to find out which d2d he had done. Got a lift with bags to the boxes, 1st letter 11 am, finished 14:20 pm. We're going to get hammered tomorrow no doubt seeing as it was so light today.

Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

First letter 09.10 Last letter 12.20. Not too bad, but strange in the way the mail was spread out. Clusters of mail for 10 or so houses, making that area heavy, then groups of 5 or so with none. Quite a bit in the packet bag but managed to get rid of everything. Cold and damp all day with showers at the beginning. One or two long faces in work as the revision info is given out. Many are going to get their noses pushed out of joint me thinks.

Exceptionally heavy Tuesday...reams of catalogues,didn't do lapsing...d2d's had been put in frame with lapsing but the bloke that took it pulled every one out and just took the letters..thanks mate!

Had a road with fourteen packets on it. Had to chuck them in the packet bag, have them dropped off, then bike down that road again once I'd delivered all the letters, pulling parcels out of my panniers. It worked reasonably well, but I've been trying to think of a way to split it up better. If I split the bags, I'd end up with bags full of packets with one or two bundles, which just doesn't sit well with me. Seeing as I have to go through this road on the way back to the office, the way I'm doing it is probably the best. It still drives me nuts though.

Anyways, first letter, 9.30. Last packet 13.20. Three hours fifty minutes! Ouch.

Much better than yesterday!!

In on O/T today to do revision stuff.

Yesterday had a WTL session on the revison so far/update the staff on how its going and give them the oppurtunity to ask any questiosn they have. One ex member accused me of bending the revision to my will didnt like my response and exploded with pure and utter rage.

How Im going to bend the revision to my will when the ballot is happening whilst Im at the sea side for a week is quite beyond me.

At the ballot box I am just one single voice in a sea of many.
