no mate, seriously,.....*********road duty at present= 907 houses, ******* duty at present= 979, totals 1886, but the revision is adding another 224 bringing them up to 2110. mind you, the majority of them are terraced :Very Happy
You might want to delete the name of the street from your post.
But if it all looks like this - it's not so surprising.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Even if the calls are on the pavement it doesn't help you indoors.
You're still looking at over a thousand doors to prep and about 200 D2Ds times however many.
Actually getting out the door would be an achievement. :nervous

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I once brought that argument up, and that was a 1000 drop give or take, when we still had paper bills so if it was gas, electric, phone etc........there was a 1000
points to prep, the manager looked at me like I was an idiot, but the poor sod prepping the delivery was leaving 45 minutes after everybody else and that was when we did 1 lot of D2D a fortnight.

That now can be processed by the MPu from Midnight. Once one outward plan is fully rolled out this first pass will have appoxmately 60% of mail.

The rest of work which is distant and neighbour work ie coming from Manchester to London will not leave that mail centre till late at night and has to come to the recieving mail centre and then be broken down to the relevant post code. This will mean that it is targets to clear the mail centre around 4 40 in the morning and then get dispatched to the MPU. The MPU then has to batch sort the work with 3 passes each and then transfer to the satellite office.
Our MC does not get its last arrivals until about 0430 which means our last arrivals in DO can be as late as 0800 and that is with the last wave being crash sorted and sent to us as manual with no walksorted letters or flats. I don't see how they can manage even the lastest proposed arrival time of 10am once WS is introduced.

after revision they,ll be 4hrs 45mins per day. thats over 6 days though, we,ve opted for 8hrs 50mins a day, you do that for 3 weeks, then you,re off a week. so you get a week off per month, 1 sat in 4 if you will.

Well I think that ship has well and truly sailed, if his new Dom comes on here I think even he/she can put 2&2 together and get 4.
But no need to worry his new Dom has allready indicated he/she is not vindictive
Keep us posted when new duties start daveyeff and how they go.

9 day fortnights, you do know were your working week is reduced by an hour, on a 9 day fortnight you lose 40mins work time and 20mins MR.

people have been disaplined for what they have said on here in the past. i agree what you said wouldn't fall into a conduct code issue. but maybe you have in another post....or will in the future.

So later finishes and later starts and longer saturdays were not given away by the union , it is a direct consequence of walk sequencing and there is no other solution.

Now lets have a look at door to door so we are going to lose time on ips and prep . Royal Mail`s orginal postion was that door to door is ordinary mail why should we now pay for it as work is now reducing and does not match 2006 levels, Of course the union was never going to accept it. However Royal Mail was never going to not have door to door into workload , quality was crap and when Royal Mail do not deliver door to door they not only have to pay comphensation for that failure but the priniting costs and call centre costs etc. I can understand some will argue that they have lost money but I do believe the deal on door to door intime will be recognised as a good deal.

Sorry, but later starts, later finishes, crap Saturdays for us poor buggers in deliveries, are a direct consequence of us belonging to one of the most inneffective trade unions it's been my misfortune to ever belong to.
Time, and time again, the vast majority of the members have taken the action that has been all too necessary, and time, and time again, they've been betrayed by men and women with no stomach for a fight, too safe in their cosy little full-time release worlds to see out a battle fought to the bitter end.
I've now lost count how many times we had RM management on the ropes, only for you and your cronies to slither along and scupper once and for all any hope that we might wring from RM improvements to our terms and conditions.

Royal Mail's senior executives must think they've never had an easier ride.
"Oh, this is the workplan we've come up with, it means the oiks who overwhelmingly supported every strike, will have even less quality time at the weekend than they do now (snigger). Sorry we didn't bother consulting with the union, but you know how it is (snigger).

The CWU has sown the seeds, let them now reap the bitter harvest. :cuppa
