In our office a new 4 and a half hour delivery walk span is being introduced that does not inclued loading the van and getting there and returning to office and parking and logging vechile ,can anyone tell me how long were allowed to work without a break.where we are intitiled to take our break

Dont realy want a web link to a gov web site would like a answer form a union rep on how a duty should be set out to comply with HS and how long you work before a break or maxium you work before a break or are we paid a subsadiy if we take our break on delivery

Below is the times and what you are entitled to,some offices like mine but were on 10hr days take half before we go out and half at the end.
Most of the 8hr days take the full lot before going out but that is for 3-30hr walks,15mins travelling back/pouching off.

I'm guessing your is around 5+hrs from leaving to returning.You could go 50/50.
PS:You've only about 2hrs for ips,prepping,D2D's,redi's and bagging up then?

If you look at the duty structure booklet examples it shows a break BEFORE and DURING the delivery span for roughly the span you are looking at..this is,in my opinion the most sensible option.

07:00 to 09:15 – Prepare and merge delivery
09.15 to 09.30 – Meal relief at office
09:30 to 09:40 – Vehicle checks and loading
09:40 to 13:00 – Delivery in shared van with a partner
13:00 to 13:20 – Meal break in vehicle with partner
13:20 to 14:45 – Delivery in shared van with a partner
14:45 to 15:00 – Return to office

2 1/4 hours seems reasonable to me..............but then we IPS elves that come out at night and do all the other work (and we only pay them in shoes )

2nd MR could surly be taken back at DO, need to go to the toilet at some point.

Thought the post would get a response from you Fishtank.
Out of interest where do you stand on the subject do you think RM are being totally unreasonable not allowing us to add 20 min upwards to our breaks by not allowing travelling time back to office to take it.

Yeah my point was were do you go to the toilet? if the DO is the closest place surely the travelling time shouldn't be taken off your break.
Someone asked our planner about toilet stops and were told you'll get used to not going. for 5hrs eh.... i think not!
