Hello I was wondering if anyone could help me here.
I applied for a job with RM online last week for their sorting office as a Xmas casual worker and got a reply from the yesterday asking me to go in next week for the interview. I have to take along loads of info like passport pic and other things. Someone has told me I have the job, and this is just a formality.
Can anyone tell me if this is the case and if so when will I be likely to start? I asked for night work on the application 22.00 - 06.00 will there be any flexibility in these shifts or not?

I dont think the job is guaranteed just yet, they will probably interview several people on the day (not at the same time though) and will let you know if you have been successful within a few days.

Thanks for that. This is more or less what I have been told already, but I am getting mixed answers from people!pyphon wrote:yer guarantee the job if all yer i'd is there, you just pick yer shift patten from what's left, that's what happend when i was a casual many moons ago before I started being a propper postie

Even if you do get the offer of a Xmas casual job, it doesn't necessarily mean you will actually get taken on.
RM tend to recruit more people than they will actually need, then only take some on, using the rest as a reserve list,
who only get taken on if there is more work than they expected and they can't cope,
If I were you I'd also apply to hotels, restaurant chains, shops, department stores and other employers who take on extra
staff over the Xmas period.

If you are taken on, it would probably be from around 6 December, depending on the amount of work coming intoMaiden25 wrote: when will I be likely to start? I asked for night work on the application 22.00 - 06.00 will there be any flexibility in these shifts or not?
the office you are working in. It could be later though.
As for the shift, you probably would get a night attendance, if that was your preference, though the bulk of Xmas casuals
in a Mail Centre would be on the late shift (1400-2200).
