1 UK WINNER OF EURO MILLIONS

Post by brothermagrew »

Well the draw has been done and dusted and one lucky UK winner has awoke this morning provided they have checked the results and found that they have landed a massive £113,019,926 fortune.

Winning numbers were 9 30 35 39 46 Lucky Star Numbers 6 & 8

Now I was sure that someone on RMC stated that it would never be won by one person but would be shared.

Good luck in checking your tickets and for the record it wasnae me

The winning ticket of a £113 million EuroMillions jackpot was bought in Britain, breaking the record for the country's largest ever lottery win, Camelot has confirmed.

Nobody has yet claimed the prize after matching the winning numbers 9, 30, 35, 39, 46, with lucky stars 6 and 8.

Until Friday's draw, the largest lottery winner in the UK was an anonymous player who scooped £84.4million on the EuroMillions draw in May.

It is not known whether the latest overnight millionaire was an individual or a syndicate. Camelot has not said where they come from in the UK.

A spokeswoman said: "This is fantastic news - we're absolutely delighted to have such a massive UK win.

"This is the biggest lottery jackpot prize ever paid out to an individual in this country. We have plenty of champagne on ice and are looking forward to welcoming the lucky ticket holder to the National Lottery millionaires' club."

Nigel Page and Justine Laycock, from Barnsley, Gloucestershire, previously broke the record in February after winning £56 million on EuroMillions.

After the win, Mr Page, 43, and 41-year-old Miss Laycock, moved in to a £4 million environmentally-friendly mansion - leaving their old £400,000 home to their cleaner Denise Kelso.

The latest winner has defied odds of 76,275,360 to one to guess all seven numbers correctly.

They will now be able to enjoy the life of a rock star or Hollywood actor, with wealth to eclipse the likes of Bee Gees Barry and Robin Gibb, Rod Stewart and David Bowie.
smokerjim - I bet my shirt it's gonna be a split....no one will walk away with £112M

Well to be fair once the claim has been made they will have walked away with £113M - but you've lost your shirt.

The UK's largest ever lottery win has been claimed and paid out, Camelot has announced.

The record-breaking £113m Euromillions Lottery jackpot prize followed a draw on 8 October.

The winner beat odds of more than 76 million to one to pick the winning numbers which were nine, 30, 35, 39, 46, with lucky stars six and eight.

According to the Sunday Times Rich List 2010, the ticket-holder could become the UK's 589th wealthiest person.

A spokeswoman for Camelot said a winning ticket had been produced and had been verified.

On Tuesday the lottery operator revealed it had received more than 1,000 lost ticket claims relating to the jackpot.

The latest winner's wealth will eclipse that of the likes of pop stars Barry and Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees, who are said to be worth £110m, Phil Collins, who has a fortune of £108m, Rod Stewart, who has £105m, and David Bowie, who has an estimated £100m to his name.

About 2,400 lottery millionaires have been created in the UK since the National Lottery launched in 1994.

The previous largest lottery winner in the UK was an anonymous player who scooped £84.4m in May.

Nigel Page and Justine Laycock, from Barnsley, Gloucestershire, previously broke the record in February after winning £56m on Euromillions.

Tickets for Euromillions are sold in nine countries - the UK, France, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Irish Republic, Portugal and Switzerland - with ticket-holders in all those countries trying to win a share of the same jackpot each week.

Camelot is the operator for the competition in the UK.

With the current state of finances and the savings that the government is having to make thats going to affect most people i don't think that many people are at all impressed by this win - i for one.Ok its nice to win a few million on the lottery but £113 million? to me it's way over the top and will only encourage the winner to have the "doesn't affect me " attitude.People who are worth more than say,10 million should work hard for it not win it.There should be a cap on the maximum payout imo

It has been reported in the British tabloid press that the recent record EuroMillions win of over £113 million has at last been claimed by a small syndicate of four from Coventry. Previously there had been speculation that the winning ticket had been lost, with plenty of players calling the National Lottery organiser to say exactly that, so if the prize has now been claimed then that is very good news. Unfortunately, it has also been reported that the winners have elected to remain anonymous, so no further details are available at this time.

And brother smokerjim must have a crystal ball as the win was indeed split. :Very Happy
