It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Every other week we get d2ds for a small Supermarket about 10 miles away. Who's going to travel there when all the big supermarkets are only a few miles away

The other day I distributing the aforementioned D2D's and I opened a "mixed box" which contained in its contents a bundle of TWO D2D's (Yes TWO individual D2D's) for one of driving duties. The D2D's had a label on them and an elastic band doubled round it. This leads to believe that there is someone in D2D HQ who actually does this every week. Is this an example of how D2D's are saving jobs perhaps?.

I've got 5 d2d's next week, well it should be 4, but because 1 didn't turn up this week, they say we have to take it next week. 1 of the d2d's is a free sachet of salad cream! I can just imagine the complaints when i'm ramming all the mail through a letter box and the sachet shoots it load all over the place!!

Just before I left office today I saw two D2D sheets in the IPS for each round, one the normal non-addressed for residents only and one for every drop...

That's not unusual. Customers can specify 'Residential only' or all addresses and pay accordingly.IloveMYredTROLLEY! wrote:Just before I left office today I saw two D2D sheets in the IPS for each round, one the normal non-addressed for residents only and one for every drop...

This seems to be a nation wide marketing campaign, we've had them here in Jockland. Re: Sachets bursting and going over the mail, don't worry according to the RM if it happens as the mail is leaving your hand i.e.being rammed through a letter box with a draught excluder on , its not our fault as we no longer have control over it!.I wonder who thought this one up!.

50% off compost bins.
you guessed it ...large number of flats with no gardens.
with addressed mailshots virgin media are the laziest at checking if an address actually exists.
eg if highest street number 99 = print 99 mailshots.

Another example of the how the "Elves" are using the unique knowledge and data to provide a high quality targeted service for the customer!. Perhaps they haven't heard of goggle maps satellite function, lets hope the customer is expecting a poor return for their D2D campaign.

Perhaps it could be used to lubricate those parcels which, when you try to put through the letterbox are a bit of a squeeze!.
