I think this must happen to everyone at least once. It's not bad if it happens on a lighter day as you can still get done around about your finish time. But I had it once on the heaviest Wednesday ever, where I was visiting literally every house, and where each bundle was covering about 15 houses. I had six/seven bags worth by the end and it was a walk I barely knew. Didn't finish till 3pm, didn't even know about booking overtime back then - just thought it was 'swings and roundabouts'.
Fool me, eh?

One bag had three 'orrible cuboid things in it though. They were all about 10cm x 10cm (x 10 cm) so I couldn't really be cheeky and give them to the driver, but frak me they were a mutha frakking nuisance and a half. Couldn't close the bag up. One of them was unaddressed and I'm not even sure it was on my walk . . . couldn't find it, anyway. Why the hell do people think a house NAME is sufficient when very few houses are actually known by their name OFFICIALLY. Name and number, please, or else get lost. I'm pretty sure it was for another walk though. Oh well.
The perfectly square boxes are by far the most annoying thing you can cart around, even the smallish ones. The shape is in constant conflict with a rectangular pouch filled with rectangular bundles.
Anyway, first day back after two weeks off . Especially annoyed at missing the last day of the Ryder cup as i had pretty much followed every minute of it from Friday morning. It was a fairly light day, nice weather and was done by about 1pm. It dragged on a bit though, probably because of the long, lazy break i have just come back from! Should take me a few more days to get back up to speed again . How i love working for Royal mail...
The polystyrene monstrosities are the worst, them 'prize' things. I have one of them every few weeks and although they're light they really frustrate the hell out of me for how annoyingly big they are.
A fairly "gentle" return after a long weekend - pay for it tomorrow maybe ?
(Note the lack of "started at xxxx, finished at xxxx" - I find that sort of thing boring, divisive, and only seems to create MORE aggro - I am a member of the swings and roundabouts clique ... far less stressful)
"We're under model" - oh no we're not - stick your lapse elsewhere ...
3 hrs and 35mins including lapsing. Copped for the D2Ds or, whatever you want to call them, on the lapsing so I could have been finished a bit earlier. Day off tomorrow.
Not a great day as the van caught a puncture monday afternoon on OT and no one could get out to fix it till today
So had to hang about and wait for that before i could go out and walk in the rain . Finished quite late and booked the extra, oh and the sun was out by then.
Got let off absorbtion because waiting for punture repair so it could have been worse.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........
