One of my colleagues had a customer with his own double glazing firm,he paid £8000 to have d2d's to every walk in our office (80 walks with an average of 600 calls). He was less than impressed with the result of a total of 4 enquiries !!

Do door-to-doors really drum up interest in a business? Is there a proven link between running a programme of d2d services and an increase in custom?
Yes,so RM and others say.

Let's be honeset, they wouldn't send them if it didn't work, also and i know everyone hates them including me,but it's work for us.
I agree, they would not send them if they did not work and a lot of our d2ds are repeat custom

Yes, and the British Gas in a mains-gasless village is at least three times a year  and now there's the charity bags for collection next Thursday and it's the wealthy remote houses that fill the bags and put them out to still be there a few rain drenched days later as they were only collected from the built-up areas where nobody is willing to donate anything. Madness.

"and Farmfoods every other week for an area who think Waitrose is for poor people" - well Waitrose is for poor people given the number of Fortnum and Masons Christmas catalogues I've been delivering lately. :Very Happy

Regarding Somerfields,as you may know they have been bought out by the " Co-operative Group who is a unique family of businesses run by over five-and-a-half million members, and together we each have a say in how these businesses are run.Except when prices are involved as we just rip you off no end as we have just bought the cheaper Somerfields and now locally you are f****d!" but there does not seem to be any Co-op D2D'S,are you lot getting them?

the week after they closed the local co-op, I started getting a co-op d2d item every single week. I've raised it with my boss, his boss and the number on the back of the leaflet, I mean, what's the point targeting and area where you've pull out of? Guess what, nothing has happened - it's been a year now, and still every week, co-op leaflet plus 2/3 others. Next week it's the heaviest item we seem to get every three months (can't name it as it'd give away where I work), used to get a whole 3.5p per item, now obviously it's nowt. That was 850 calls, all 3 up flats, at average of 7p per door = £60ish. Those were the days

We get the same d2ds, they're just on permanent rotation. Nothing new. Sky, BT, Farmfoods, etc. It doesn't make a difference to me, but I wish they would all be letter size. Except for council leaflets which is fair enough.
