I'm knackered just doing my own duty.

Perhaps i'm getting old ?

because many people still have undersized duties
the range of rounds im doing just now can vary by as much as 2 miles on a main door walk
so straight away, one guy is walking 10 miles a week more
some walks are way over 3.5 hours
some are under 3!
yesterday we had guys struggling and streaming to complete
i took everything including a bulk delivery of council letters
took me 2.45
so i took 40 minutes break before leaving and was done over 40 minutes before my finish time!

I hadn`t done any overtime (bar the odd half hour excess here & there) for about 2.5yrs but have worked my last five rest days.

Got quite a bit of cash saved for our kids Christmas pressies now & will work my next three days off then knock it on the head. :wave

Its really caught up with me if im honest, feel about 80. :Boo hoo!

Just proves all offices are not the same  I agree some duties are still light and surprisingly enough the Posties, whose duties they are, normally complain the loudest! :mad I actually did a 3.5 hour delivery the other day :dance If you want to know the light duties ask the Leave Reserves. No Postie with a Regular Duty is going to shoot himself in the foot and admit to being under-worked is he?

My office has been running on OT for years, apart from the odd week when no-one's on long term sick and every one's back from leave! During recent WTL, when asked if there'd be any Redundancies, the Planner, who was sitting in, said looking at the Figures so far we would probably be recruiting! They'd been trying to recruit people for 16 week contracts and didn't get any takers SURPRISE SURPRISE! :left:

My office is top heavy with PTers so with a bit of luck we might be able to get better contracts, it would save RM cash as they're already paying Tax & NI. We have been badly understaffed for years. Perhaps other offices who are looking at Redundancies have more staff, trouble is everyone always judges others without knowing the facts and I wouldn't want to jump on that band wagon! Suffice to say there in not a shortage of Over Time just Posties :arrrghhh

There are people at my place that do 2 walks, now bare in mind it's been busy and our 4hr walks are hitting that span!
One cheeky bitch cut off at 7 as it was too dark to continue!
She had to finish it off the next day.

Out of order i say as peeps have mail delayed because of this. :no no

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The only office in the country that is going to have a good amount of overtime is going to be HWDC. Despite what management tell us,we all know they are in a real mess there and have all on overtime everyday.

Were on overtime more or less everyday just doing our own rounds let alone if another needs covering. I certainly won't be taking any other round out. I dont get this when people say RM refuse to pay overtime, just don't do any then. The come in later next day sounds crazy as well. Surely that would just make you finish even later and so on, by Saturday you could probably have it off they'll owe you that much time.
