they only recommend. it's your lino that makes the decision to [sack] ill health retire you.

you will have the choice - (1)with lump sum or (2)immediate pension
if you take pension - you cannot work for approximately 10 years minimum, but with lump sum - i think it's 9 months before you can look for work again.

you would be assessed by DWP for benefits but the way things are going - that could be iffy !?
You don't get a choice and IHR with a pension also comes with a lump sum, that is why it is rarely offered.
IHR with Pension does not come with a lump sum at all... What rubbish...

You can take UPTO 25% of your Pension Pot in a Tax Free lump sum if you wish for a smaller monthly pension....

The reason it is rarely offered ( wheres your evidence for that ? ) is that you have to be unable to work for 10 years at the OPINION of the Doctor employed by the Company...
I was refering to my main pension which is section B which comes with a lump sum on IHR with no reduction in pension, also my evidence comes from a freedom of information request ,you should try it sometime.

It doesnt matter if it is Section A,B or C , the lump sum is still part of your pension in which you have paid into all your working life.. As you say Section B ( open between 1971-87 ) the lump is seperate to your monthly payment. However you are only receiving 1/80 of pay rather than 1/60th on a Section C..

At the end of the day the payments are made by the Trustees of the RMPP not the RM itself ...IHR with Pension, should and is on most cases, given on the medical evidence and not by the size of the lump sum involved...

Also remember the DWP like to pigeon hole people. I think you need to get over a hurdle 2 mm high for them to say you are fit to work.
My doctor has said there is uproar with the decisions that they make......

I know in my case a lot of things that we had discussed in that assessment got very much over looked. I don't even think these doctors are qualified enough to judge on certain mediacl factors. They call them experts phffttt....
