8am 30hr PT'ers get in to an empty frame.
9:30 most FT'ers leave with finish time of 2:15 (I think?) after meal relief.
10:00 I and other 30hr contracts leave with finish time of 1:30 after meal relief.

I assume on a 30hr contract you have a 6hr day?

travelling/pouching off...........30mins.
Delivery...........................3.30mins.
Meal relief...........................30mins.
Prep................................1.30mins.....6hrs

Full-timer(me :chuckle )

Travelling/pouching off.............30mins
Delivery.............................3.30mins
Meal relief.............................40mins
IPS....................................1.50mins
Prep..................................1.30mins.....8hrs.

There are 4 possible reasons for the discrepancy in your time for leaving the office....
1.The IPS is over manned and finishing early....that will change when the IWT gets involved.
2.The full-timers are starting before there time.......tossers but there's nothing you can do about it.
3.The full-timers are not taking their meal relief......as above.
4.Your duties are too large for the allocated prep time but the full-timers somehow aren't..Are the P/T duties larger than the full-time duties?
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

In the end, it is as has already been said, a major failure by management. Maybe a re-write of job descriptions is due.
Wrong! If they are union members then they have the same rep and voice as the FT lot!
EXCEPT, it was the union rep throwing off my frame for whole week and was NEVER ready for me when I arrived.

So why would he or did he not finish it,is it wacky races at your place for fulltimers.

Wacky races is right, Dick dastardly is the dom with the lino as mutley while I see myself as more of a Peter Perfect type (or Penelope Pitstop if you ask the wife)

Thank goodness for that i was begining to think i was the only one to think the same as Postman, look if your walk is not prepped then do it yourself dont bother with going to a manager thats what they want,if more of you just took the attitude that if your late out you spend less time delivering the silly managers would get of thier backsides and do something instead you do the job for them,it's about time some of you just relaxed and let the over payed managers earn thier money and it's about time some staff wrapped thier heads around being there for the hours they are payed for,i am sorry for being blunt but not all the staff can cut and run some staff who work in the RLE or Callers they cant just miss a break and finish before the shift ends,so if we cant all do the same then no one should, think on one and all.

Does this apply to 30hr contracts too? For example on normal days it's like this-

8am 30hr PT'ers get in to an empty frame.
9:30 most FT'ers leave with finish time of 2:15 (I think?) after meal relief.
10:00 I and other 30hr contracts leave with finish time of 1:30 after meal relief.

So FT'ers are getting out with 4hrs 45mins mins delivery time while 30hr PT guys are getting out with 3hrs30 to do equally sized deliveries. That's a shortfall of 1hr15mins which I can't understand. Some FT walks have an extra bit but that takes 20mins still leaving 55mins more time for FT'ers to do the same job. Some days I am still putting in flats when some FT'ers are walking out the door. What can I do about this? Is it normal?
You must work in my DO! :Very Happy

Should that not be a finish time of 2.00pm after meal relief? 8.00am - 2.00pm = 6 hrs?

4.Your duties are too large for the allocated prep time but the full-timers somehow aren't..Are the P/T duties larger than the full-time duties?
1. Not anymore they are all prepping other walks. But the ones left on IPS seem to work in slow motion till the 35 hr staff get called on then they suddenly move up a gear! DOM and Linos try and get 30 & 25 Hr bods on IPS when the sh*t really hits the fan. I of course decline the offer!
2. Yes, and they are the ones harrassing P/Ts to get done prepping their walks and moaning about having to do extra.
3. Most of ours take the full meal relief and the fag breaks!!!!
4. Full Timers tend to be the senior members of the DO and have the easier walks!

Me ( :Very Happy ) 30 hr contract

travelling/pouching off...........30mins. Yes
Delivery...........................3.30mins. 3.30 - 4.00 hrs
Meal relief...........................30mins. Lucky if I get 15 mins
Prep................................1.30mins.....6hrs More like 1.45 mins on an easy day due to duty having to prep part of another walk

And where is the D2D prep time :whistle :Very Happy

Now this to me seems ludicrous. I used to be on a 35 hour contract and the only thing I didin't do compared to Full timers was IPS! I think RM and the middle to higher end of the Heirarchy are getting away with murder so long as ALL part time contractual hours are dealt with at local level.
There have to be some sort of guidelines a part timer can follow to gauge if they are being taken advantage of. All this talk about going to see your Rep, It is going on in the work place, day in day out in front of Reps who just seem to be onlookers (Any Reps out there, please give some examples of standing up for us poor downtrodden PT'ers, if only to show there is light at the end of the tunnel). If they can see part timers are being, victimised is the only appropriate word I can think of, should they not be intervening without having to be approached.
Our CWU money is as good as anybody elses. I still think there is a case of conflicting interests in some DO's, if they do decide to champion the part timers cause who will take up the slack left by the part timers? Like I said, a conflict of interest.

24 part time duties consist of ..coming in ..as others are flying out the door.. even on the lightest days to mostly a frame with mail awaiting ..no door to doors done ..packets.. redirecs..break of 20 mins very rare indeed nowadays ..because of the lovely burden of d2ds ..

A typical case. Do you know what exactly is expected of you in your given hours? EVERYONE should be held back until ALL frames are fully prepped, after missort run. I arrive to an empty car park every morning, suicide as it is showing RM that the full timers can STILL make more time on the indoor segment.

i dont think the managers like upsetting the routine ..our office is on the 4th manager since i started 2 and half years ago ..the 2rd one did a lot of the time make the effort to get the frames sorted ..but he was a long term acting relief manager ..and left when a perm manager was found and it was back to the old ways then ..for 3rd ..and now 4th ones

I'm part time and in the last couple of weeks had days when hardly any prep was done,
So all i did was prep the rest, leave the office at gone 11am, and then at 1.30 i've rang the office and told them i've left 2 or 3 bags at the drop point that they will have to send someone out to deliver as my time is up and i'm not doing it.

I will keep doing this until they get into the habit of actually getting mine prepped.

Good on you, that's the sort of attitude you need to let management know you won't be taken advantage of.
