I think RM are taking the piss with this d2d thing. I'm sure the limit is 5 up until January and I told everyone that this morning. Most of the office have 6 this week(including me) and I know of 2 that have 8, all bundles have this weeks date on. I'm refusing to throw mine off until I know whats what. Anyone point me in the right direction?

Not its in the agreement that they will be automated but not at what level and or when, I think Fishtank was pointing out the naivety of believing what RM say on anything that is not set in stone.

From 2010 & Image
The CWU will be involved in quarterly review meetings, which will provide an opportunity for the CWU and Royal Mail to review operational challenges, product developments, and work together to identify new products and further growth opportunities, including the potential for automation which will be driven by commercial viability linked to volume.
Beyond the above quote only unofficial sources have suggested that 6 is the automation limit, nothing official as far as I am aware has been communicated to the membership.

2. D2D sales are expected to ramp up as follows: 4 items from 7 June, 5 items from 12th July (to be confirmed) 6 items from 3rd January 2011 and thereafter greater volumes as delivery methods roll out continues and D2D automation comes on stream. The actual number of D2D contracts will vary by delivery unit depending on customer demand. To aid transition, offices that have not deployed delivery methods revisions will have to provide genuine and demonstrable solutions to any weight or volumetric issues.

Nada this week. I've had more weeks with 0 since the cap was lifted, than at any time during my 21 years in this job. Have had 4 once and 3 on a few ocassions, 1 or 2 is the norm for our office.

3 sets for my delivery next week, only had 2 weeks where there has been more than 3 sets since the cap was lifted. Extra sets seem to be going in the main where the money is, out in the villages.

Do we still get an extra 20% if a Monday was a Bank Holiday? And what happens if they're the Council magazines which weigh a ton and used to be 4p per item???

Apart from 1 week with 4,which tbf i think was just an extra 1 from the week before,a late contract type thing,i'm well down on numbers since it started.
I'm still losing money though!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
