CUSTOMERS calling at a delivery office to collect undelivered mail yesterday found it closed and left empty-handed.

Royal Mail blamed “unforeseen circumstances” and it is believed staff sickness caused the unscheduled, temporary closure.

A Royal Mail spokeswoman said: “We apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused when we had to close the inquiry office at Holyhead Delivery Office due to unforeseen circumstances. The inquiry office will be open as normal in the morning (Thursday) and evening for collection of items.”

The inquiry office at Unit 1, Penrhos Industrial Estate, opens from 8am till 12.30pm and 4.15pm till 5.30pm.

Could'nt a manager do the job? I guess they were out covering the walks that they've no staff for :d'oh!
