A cliche with little or no substance if ever there was one. What I have noticed since this agreement is that the name count is well and truly down on here. Whether they just trundled off, or more on here voted yes than you/we realise we may never know but of those that are left i don't hear a rallying call to stand behind the union, and almost none for Uncle Billy.
Debate, happy to oblige but like The Truth! people seem far more comfortable believing that the common man will win out and do not listen to him, preferring to sit with their fingers in the ears, or their backsides. Still far too many in the workforce that go on about 'their customers' when theres hardly any left even now. World is changing and much said in these forums goes unheard in the big bad world and makes not a jot of difference either.
It may be a cliché but the correct translation is "for knowledge itself is power" - This does not mean that RMC itself is a power, or even that it wants to be. What it means, at least in my opinion, is that RMC providing the knowledge (agreements LTBs advice) allows members to question decisions or interpretations they think are wrong. Look around the threads there are plenty of "thanks that really helped" posts. Thats the ethos of RMC not it being an active political or militant forum like some try to paint us.
As to active users well at the moment its fluctuating between around 950 and 1100 of which naturally the vast majority are lurkers but we do average around 200 - 400 new posts - these figures are about average for an active forum at least they match well with the other ones I am a member of.
You are also enough of a veteran member to remember that RMC traffic levels peak when there is Industrial Action and when major agreements are being discussed. We have neither at the moment so we would not expect levels to remain as high as they are during those time.
The rest of your pot - well thanks for the debate but it sounds like an end of term report for school.
