As long as the vehicle is used primarily for travelling to and from work it's not considered a perk.
As far as using one...fine as long as you have clearly defined guidelines on damage/theft liability i don't see a problem.
It's better than wrecking your own car to go to work.

I am not aware of any current reason for people taking vehicles home and the CDV rules for the new understanding is not a perk but because RM will not in some cases have sufficient parking space at the DO - and that is position taken by RM on taking vehicles home. It will not/should not be a free for all for exactly the same reason someone pointed out - cost.

That's probably the most retarded sentence i've read on here and that's saying something. If you are allowed to take the van home then it's insured, it's not a company car as we're not taxed so it will be the same as a pool car system.
If you don't want to because of parking etc then fair enough, but don't make stupid statements like 'the people that take them home run around delivery'

And your reply is about as retarded as it gets too - you're obviously rather blinkered in your view of RM, one of the people that makes this job s**t.
So then, why is it stupid, come on gobby, why is it stupid to suggest people that run round now and use cars now would want vans to take home - all so they can continue running round and stick with that stupid idea of finishing early that has dropped us all right in the brown stuff... Why not drive back to the office in RM time, hand over keys, 739s blah etc all in works time and then leave the van at the office? Not rocket science is it?
I can't understand why anyone would see it as a benefit - it's purely for RM's benefit otherwise they would NOT have suggested it!!!!
