Sure it does say it in there somewhere. See plenty of vans parked outside houses in this neck of the woods

Re: vANS HOME OVERNIGHT
I know a lot of the local SPDO staff take there vans home. One van was recently stolen from outside the posties house. Its been found but its now the size of an HCT

So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

Just keep on walking down never ending streets

So instead of driving to work in a paid for van and paid for fuel, you'd rather pay bus fare or drive your own car to work? (and you don't get paid for that journey either)maisymoo04 wrote:no one should take a van home even when this agreement kicks in,royal mail our not goin to pay you from the time you get in the van say 15 mins before start time.the only time i would take a van home is if they pay me asoon as i step foot in it

Does this not have tax implications ?..Pre RM in my other life I had company cars for years...You get nailed for tax as a beneift in kind as soon as there is any aspect of personal use which I imagine would include driving to and from work,,

As long as the vehicle is used primarily for travelling to and from work it's not considered a perk.
As far as using one...fine as long as you have clearly defined guidelines on damage/theft liability i don't see a problem.
It's better than wrecking your own car to go to work.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Yep, and saving RM the hassle of finding somewhere to park, putting all responsibility on you should anything happen to the van. I'll make my own way to work, I won't do anything to help out this s**t company.OnAFlyer wrote:So instead of driving to work in a paid for van and paid for fuel, you'd rather pay bus fare or drive your own car to work? Re: vANS HOME OVERNIGHT
The people that take vans home are probably the same people that used to run around and use their own cars on delivery!!
I say no, in my office a lot of people said no, not got vans yet though.
Not a chance I'm having the hassle of providing work with a parking space, the issue of security - lets see how many vans get broken into before RM stops vans at home!!
What about going on leave or sick - sounds like a lot of messing about...?

Re: vANS HOME OVERNIGHT
RM Policy has been issued called Retention of vehicles overnight. Ask DOM to print it off the intranet and post it up.
