Yes, I hope they don't decide to let up now. None of this "let's give RM a couple of days and see if they will decide to talk" tripe.

Not working here.
Had two days of crap thrown at us and the office is clear apart from packets which where only left because the drivers where on strike today.
Oh and we lost our 100%scab free status last strike.
I`m pissed off as the usual dockey kings are making a nice buck and have helped clear the back log and the runners are still shooting off as normal.

OUR MORALE...

Post by J »

Look, lads and lasses!!!

Most offices may have a strike breaker or two going in and it may make you feel down.

DON'T FEEL DOWN!!!!

Look, people cross your picket line. Let them go. We all have long memories and will remember things and remember when strike breakers may want a favour of us in the days/months/years to come. Thats when our 'long memory' will kick in.

Also, these strike breakers obviously must think that they are paid enough for the job they do. And you find that most strike breakers (well ones I know of anyway) will be on part-time hours. So they are happy to work part time contracts for the rest of their career and never want a full time job!

Their happy to lie down and let L&C walk all over them in their fishnets and stilettoes. Fu**ing masochistic if you ask me.

Basically they agree that they are 25% overpaid and 40% underworked!!!

THATS WHY WERE STRIKING FOLKS!!!

So don't let these SADDO'S get you down.

Oh, and if any strike breakers are reading this and start to fu*king whinge about financial commitents, well fu*k off!! I have one income, kids, mortgage, car, bills, credit cards etc. I chose to strike coz it will provide in the long time for me and my family!!! WHAT WE'RE DOING NOW IS A SMALL SACRIFICE TO MAKE TO WHAT WE WILL LOSE IF WE LET RM WIN!!!

To the 1.9% of stike breakers - Join us strikers and make us 100% coz as long as you go into work, strike breakers, YOU are prolonging this dispute, NOT US STRIKERS!!!!

I'm part time and work 30 hours, about the same amount of time as some of my full time colleagues actually work. I've been on every picket unlike most of the full time staff who use strike days as a day off. I work part time because I have to not because I want to. Not all part timers are strike breakers as an increasing number of posts are beginning to infer. I receive no early shift allowance,my walk is longer and heavier than every full time duty in my office, there are only 2 walks worse than mine and they are both AG's. The only difference between AG's and full time in my office is that AG's don't do 1 hour IPS. That's all. Yet I find myself standing with my mates on the picket line defending the rights of all of us. By the way, we've only had 1 scab at my office. Full timer with more than 15 years service.

Apologies if you think that I am saying all part timers are strike breakers but I did say 'MOST' and not all, thats not the point I'm trying to make. And yes I agree that some PT staff want to be PT staff.

Apologies if I upset you and I wrote out of context there. But I'm going from what I know in my area and reports in offices in my area. Maybe I should have put that in the post!!

Sorry! :d'oh!

Two of our strike breakers are part-time and one full-time. Two of them keep their heads down and say nothing. On the other hand the other part-time scab has not got the sense to follow their example. It has led to tempers fraying as he is more vocal when the dum is in the building. On the dums day off he is slightly quieter, but not much. Also as mentioned in another forum, he comes in at 4.15 but is'nt due to start until 6.30! What a di*khead! :mad :mad

Thats the prob when these vocal people with no backbone sound off. When the manager is there, they're trying to confront people trying to look clever. But when the manager isn't there they're evryones 'best mate'. Not mine, btw, coz I can't be arsed with people like that!!!

Hi, no need to apologize. you did make a valid point on the information that you have. I agree that there are some AG's who are really taking the P. Just the same as full timers. They are, as far as I see trying to get 'brownie' points with the managers, while raking in as much extra cash at the expense of their colleagues. I don't see how we can win as long as these people are allowed to get away with this. Sorry if I came across as offended, but sometimes my full time colleagues treat the AG's as second class workers while they rip the S*** out of the job.

ITS WORKING ALRIGHT

AS RM WOULD SAY, LETS LOOK AT THE FACTS. ALL OF THE WORK IN THE D.O'S THIS MORNING CONSISTED OF BULK MAILING WITH HAS THE PLAN NUMBER ALREADY ON. DOESN'T REQUIRE PROCESSING, MAILSORT 3, MAILSORT 2, DSA. MOST SENT FROM THE NDC. NO MECH, ANY OTHER MAIL SHIPPED INTO D.O'S WAS RUN THROUGH BY MANAGERS AND IT WASN'T ALOT. I WENT OUT WITH 2 BAGS TODAY. THE MAIL IS BACKING UP INTO THE SYSTEM AND WILL BACK UP EVEN FURTHER WHEN DELIVERY AND COLLECTION HUBS GO OUT TOMORROW.
AS A UNION WE NEED TO STICK WITH THIS DISPUTE. ACAS CALLED THE CWU INTO A MEETING WITH RM YESTERDAY. THAT MEANS RM APPROACHED ACAS TO INITIATE TALKS. THE 2 PARTIES MEET TOMORROW. SOMETHING MUST HAVE COME OUT OF YESTERDAYS MEETING FOR THE UNION NOT TO UP THE ANTI AND INCREASE DISRUPTION. PLANS ARE TO ANNOUNCE MORE DATES TOMORROW. THIS IS PROBABLY DEPENDANT ON THE RM LINE OF NEGOTIATION. IF THEY REHASH THE SAME LOAD OF BOLLOCKS, EVEN IF THEY MOVE SLIGHTLY, THE CWU WILL CALL MORE STRIKE ACTION. RM NEED TO REMOVE THIS BUSINESS PLAN TOTALLY FOR US TO EVEN CONTEMPLATE A FULL RETURN TO WORK POLICY.
