One of my work friends got a return to sender letter back today, on it it said i am supporting the royal mail strike and will refuse to accept mail that isnt from royal mail (ie TNT etc)
Also the 100 miles song came on and i did the royal mail verison on the net and everyone thought that was funny. Today was ok claimed a hour over time.

Generally yesterday was a good day. Sat/stood on the picket line most of the day with no top on (OY... no sarcy comments LOL), got a belting tan and ate like billy-o coz people were bringing us food down no end. Legs were a little sore after 14 hours but none the less, it was a good day. Took my daughter down with me and she enjoyed it too!!!
However back to the grind tonight though....
Not to worry, rough with the smooth and all that...
Ha ha ha ha ha....

Had a good afternoon, customers very supportive of the strike. Had a p***k turn up 10 mins before closing wanting his special left today(24 hour wait in our office) no ID, nothing at all, giving it all the excuses under the sun, NO ID, NO ITEM, NO EXCEPTIONS...........bloody hell did he go mental, had to press the bandit alarm and pull the hatch down. Got him escorted out of callers, closed up then a manager came up and got his letter and GAVE it to him!! Nothing like a bit of support is there, hes made me look like a right t**t
Whats the fecking rules there for??? I have calmed down now, a bit
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
Illegitimi non carborundum

in my 20 odd yrs with royal mail today was one of the busiest if not the busiest i have ever had office was piled high with mail
mass cutoffs today as DUM refused to pay O/T for ext dly today 1st said only strike breakers could claim nearly started a riot he soon changed his mind and told everyone that there would be no claims for ext dly today
so (nearly) everyone cut off and brought it back
i took out 5 trays didnt leave office til 9.30am on a rural dly with a 13.30 finish
brought back just over 2 trays of mail
hope theres loads in tomorrow and the guys do another mass cutoff

Work everywhere, coffins yorks and i noticed one full of a walk that did not go out saturday
found another with a cut off about 12 bundles.Had a little bit of mailsort, some chunky flats and a couple of packets on my frame
the mrs different story, not a packet was taken out on her walk and 8 mech bundles on her frame, reserve who done it saturday along with the rest of office told to take out work and deliver to all of the walk where possibleTold the mrs he finished at 2.00 duty till 15.30. Fair enough.
