But we have a 'dwindling' postbag. It just said so on BBC news so it must be true

Yesterday was a day from hell.
Extremely busy. Apparently the mail centre is behind still from the Bank Hols. Had a meeting with the DOM, rep, and planner regarding the coming revision. Came out of the meeting and went straight on my break (20 mins) . Did the whole walk and lapsing and worked till 4.15. Glad I was off today. Saw one of the lads, he told me they were off the IPS at about 10am!

For a company that famously died on it's arse, and went into administration a few months ago, it is surprisingly active...no consolation, but at least they use us, rather than tear the arse out of us by using DSATrueBlueTerrier wrote:We couldn't even get ours sorted in time, never mind lapsingSherpas Rule wrote:Those things were a pain in the arse, had a near 100% call rate today but I wasn't bothered as it meant I didn't have to lapse.taurus88 wrote:How was your Friday, sponspored by Readers' Digest, bringing big yellow things to every single house's door. I must have had a 95% call rate on my walk today. My bags were all frakking loaded (only four of them though). Thankfully, I didn't have many packets. Finished on time.

Absolute crap. Got back from missort run and was told to go out with 1 bag for a flyer. Took 40mins at that time of day. Told boss that i was now taking my long weekend off and i could not care how short they were. Finally left at 10.10am. Got to a bag drop, some fecker had taken the key off my bunch. Went to find postie to borrow his key. Another bag drop and the person who had used the key yesterday had not replaced it. Again hunt down another postie. Finally dropped last bag off at 11.30!! To cut a long story short went 2hrs over and brought parcels back. Switched my phone off, not going back til tues. Sod the 18hrs overtime. Let them do it themselves.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Apparently, I've been missing a call and collect in amongst my redirections. Knowing what a call and collect was PRIOR to being told, by a note tacked on top of my redirections no less, would have been very nice. Training? What training? I obviously didn't get enough/any. Call and collect in-frakking-deed. Seriously, do RM expect me to intuitively know the ins and outs of their business just by walking in the door and slipping on a polo shirt + trousers?

A bad day to round off a bad week really. Another hours docket. Rained on and off all morning. Hot and sticky. Shattered at the end. Died in bed for 3 hours. Need I say any more.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
AFAIK, you DO & you MUST take d2ds on a Saturday ( they are officially live mail, just as much as a letter from Buckingham Palace )....but, as RM give us 6 days to deliver them, there is NO reason why you must take out more than 1/6th of your delivery ( so if you have 6 vertical tiers on your bench, just fill one up & take it out ), and if a manager complains, explain you are only taking what you are expected to do, suggest to them that it is up to them to ensure the others on the duty do their fair share of d2ds, and if they continue to argue, refuse to do anything more unless they tell you in writing ( and if they are dumb enough to do so, see your rep and put a grievence in )ad0128 wrote:rammed again this morning. covered a walk with 500 d2d's left (we dont do d2ds on saturday). i have to take them they said. fine but i reckon i can only complete 2.5 rows of duty since i now have to prep all 5.
