jessie - your mortgage company will have done a thorough check on you and deemed you a viable loan recipient, this will have involved ringing your employer and asking about projected job cuts etc etc

Royal Mail are not going out of business, the government won't let it happen!

I got swapped onto a rural from a town at 8am today........a year ago I would have thrown a fit but just got on with it, got out at 10.30 with 10 trays, at 1.30 I cut off and took 5 trays back, and got thanked for my effort, didn't know the bloody rural mind you but that's not the point, point is go in at 6, work your 8 hours abd then go home, stress free, do your best, don't take the piss, it's still a nice easy stress free job as long as you do it properly!

It's about getting your head around working your hours, once you do that the job becomes ok again :) :cuppa

Didn't we post obscene profits this year? Where has the cash gone? Has Crozier made off with it?

POL and PF is where it has gone as some of that profit was from them.

RML profits were not obscene at all a small fraction compared to revenue.

Is it RML struggling or the entire Group :hmmmm

And we'll still get jobs because we are good posties.
And they won't get jobs anywhere because they will still be s**t managers.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Much as i hate the way the company is going Jock,i wont wish myself out of a job if that's ok.
I have a good few years invested in what's left of my pension and i don't want to see it take another hit either. :nervous

So if the companys going out of business won't that cause a slight problem with privatising it :dance
As far as i'm concerned i'll believe their lies when i see them admiting it to the media

How long could we sustain the 'leeches' riding on our back before it came to this. It's bad enough delivering their letters, but now when you get your packets and see DHL, Citylink, TNT etc in the corner :arrrghhh . Funny how the tories were privatising us first chance they got and now they've gone quiet. Perhaps they've seen RM'S finances and are waiting for RM to go begging to be privatised and the big plan started by Blair, Leighton etc comes to fruition.

Work for free?
Bollox to that. :cuppa
Higson foregoing his totally undeserved £1.7million salary, is he? Thought not. :cuppa
I'd sooner see RM go totally to the wall, than do unpaid work for a c*** like that.
Besides, this is yet another lie, from people for whom lying is a way of life, they know f**k all else. :cuppa

Hampshireman

Why don't you offer your DOM a deal. You'll work as many hours over your contracted hours free of charge as he does :dance

They are OUR letters but part of the work was stolen from us.

ask your DOM tomorrow - if RM will go out of business soon then it is your job as well as ours so what are you going to do for free to help save it? Tell him you will match his answer

this is scaremongering at it's worst

I would ask him to put it in writing so that I can advise my mortgage company hard times will be ahead - but i'm awkward that way :Very Happy

even better tell him you want a meeting with his boss to discuss his worries as you are now afraid for your job and want clarification

seriously ask him just to get the answer

Well presumably they took advice from the CWU who funded them throughout their time in office and continue to do so. I mean if they hadn't been consulted why would they continue to bankroll them? There is something vaguely obscene about paying someone to continually kick you in the backside, wouldn't you say?

The work wasn't stolen from Royal Mail BD it was given away without a fight.
