Can't move in our office, yorks everywhere. Some of the full yorks of MS have been there since the beginning of last week. They had people in early this morning to make a start but it did'nt make much impact. Good job the mails dropping off because we'd never cope

Being honest, the cause of this is too many duties have been cut. Add lapsing into the equation and it is bound to cause failures. We knew autumn pressure was coming, the DOM's knew, the Lino's knew, Area Managers knew, everyone, all the way up to the very top knew it was coming, but, in their haste to cut hours and staff they have proved that all they are interested in is profit. How long before RM's customers (not who we call our customers) demand better service for the money they spend?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

The entire situation is beyond belief, what's most alarming is they seem 'too quick' to fail the process, when previous strikes took place,i have to say they've had minimal impact(like bank holidays)and customers have had to wait a day or so.
But something has gone drastically wrong, ironically around the last bank holiday, and people are still waiting for documents/packets from the end of August,as the backlog grows,we are all set to have a walk sequenced revision in November.
Oh and yes,we are still having to lapse

We've failed every day this week, they're knocking letters back just to accommodate lapsing. Today the lino told us all to go on ips, not one of us who were down to lapse moved and he came round again, "EVERYBODY on sorting please!" Same result, so they just shifted it out of the way and the manager hid himself away throwing a walk out. DOM was noticeable by his faiure to come out of his office to see what a f*ck up it all was.

You see, a few threads on from my previous post and its getting worse. The amount of opg work being done by management in our office is a DISGRACE, putting lapsed walks into frames, doing ips and delivering too. Its being ignored by the union and postmen for now, but when guys start getting told to cancel leave booked (sorry, begged) because we just dont have the cover, maybe my office will grow a pairand say "enough is enough". Talking about at least a duty worth of opg work being done by managers, daily often more, add that to failures and d2d failures, shouldnt be happening guys, poor state of affairs.

Starting to happen in my office already :chuckle just wait until the duties get changed to the 4 1/2(which means 5 1/2 hours in RM land) hour duties, they'll have to get up before they go to bed (I wonder if the new super DOs will have bunks in them).
