Hello from Stoke MDEC

Post by Marky Mark »

Hi, Mark here from Stoke MDEC lates. Just joined this site. Had an interesting incident on Thursday on our designated strike day. One of the CWU reps, the learning rep to be precise, broke with the strike and came into work. Would call him a scab but diversity etc... If we can't trust the union reps to support us who have we got left? If the branch have any sense they'll forcibly remove him from that post and put it up for election.

Welcome to the site Mark from a fellow Stokie.

It's shocking to hear about the learning Rep. I know CWU can not remove members from the union for breaking a strike but I'm not sure if they can stop people holding a union position?

Good to have you along anyway.

Hello and welcome Marky Mark
Yo! It's about that time
To bring forth the rhythm and the rhyme
I'ma get mine so get yours
I wanna see sweat comin' out your pores
The union I believe can deselect him for going against reasonable instructions, and of course if you can get someone to stand against him in a vote he will loose his position anyway.

The answer to that is yes, as a similar incident happened at plymouth mdec also. :cfo :lfo
