Royal Mail need saturday staff to cover for mothers and people who like to take day off on Saturdays.

I honestly think the union is misguided in its policy of "protecting" full time jobs. It's a fine goal as long as part timers are not getting shat on as a result, which will inevitably be the outcome. Surely the better goal would be to get EVERYONE on the same hours, 35 per week or so.

I would support that idea as mentioned in the "are union in royal mail pockets" thread but Dingo does not think the membership would have gone for it. I think he may be wrong but we won't know until the CWU ballot on it. The chances of that are exceedingly slim.

Your fears are right. People bitch and moan between themselves about who is slow, people feeling like s**t because they cant keep up with others. The list is endless, the comrade attitude is being lost.

Whilst not unbearable, it's still horrible and I am considered quite fast. God help anyone over 50 it's sometimes like being at school.
Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one
