Did training on how to use the lighweight trolleys during IPS time. 4 hrs and 15 mins to do my walk AND lapsing. Not as heavy as usual for a Friday, but very hot and sticky. Knackered at the end.

Pretty average day in all. I'm sick of doing some of these half walks as it only drives the point home that MY WALK IS MUCH HARDER THAN SOME OF THE OTHERS. There are, obviously, worse ones, but a few folk in our office have it seriously easy.

Don't worry, mate.....I can see the 7th cavalry in the shape of RM/CWU riding over the crest on their white chargers.....Soon, you'll all be buggared.

My legs hurt.

A butcher and a blind man obviously took turns throwing my walk out this morning.

I cannot guarantee that everybody got the right mail, but if they did, I think some kind of award is in order for yours truly.

Funny how every time I do these half-walks I'm lucky if there's a single missort. The maximum I've had is two.

Well, it's not funny, it's irritating. It makes me want to paper cut somebody to death on Monday morn.

Apart from that, it was enjoyable enough. Warm, but not too warm. A nice breeze overlaying the bright, late summer weather. It was a pleasure en route to work to see a gentle mist settling on the lowlands like a sea, spanning the distance between the hills. It reminded me that the nights and the mornings are closing in and that winter is but a moment's grace away. Colder, dark days, and in all probability, for anyone who does overtime, starting and ending your work day in darkness.

new duty in a scabby residential concrete maze of cul-de-sacs, flats and pathways going in circles round rows of houses. Letter boxes at front, round side, round back or seemingly not at all. No map, missing street signs and a bag full of court letters. I done a remarkable job bar posting from 21-1 to junkie street instead of jobless avenue. houses faced onto both and letter sequence seemed to run perfect until i got to end of path and a steet sign hidden in a hedge.

and i forgot my busfare so had to walk 2 miles back

all in all a better than normal day

A f**king shambles from start to finish. None of the lapsed walks had been prepped and the majority of packets hadnt arrived by the time the p/t were due to leave to deliver the lapsing. These f**kers couldnt find their arse with both hands and a mirror.

I had a card from the queen for one of my punters on Monday.
Found out yesterday she died on Thursday.
100 years and 3 days.

Busiest Sat in ages. Totally shattered at the end. A Lad working relief on the machines was supposed to be taking his own walk out on ot. He ended up taking only half due to the cable tv mailshot coming in , plus the fact that half the walk hadn't been out for 2 days.

Buddy i know what you mean as i did absorbtion on an estate like that a few weeks back. Having completed one nice 'n' easy row of houses i could not find the next lot of numbers After a few mins looking i found out the houses were all packed in around the back of the others where the gardens should be.

Talk about cinder blocks, aint 70's council estates great

Ouch. Do you mean you posted letters to the wrong street of number 21 to 1? I've done similar things first time on a new walk. I don't know how anyone can act surprised and it irritates me when your lino comes to you saying 'watch out for x because mrs xyz has rung in complaining. she's 11b not 11a.' And people wonder why the postal service is getting worse. No regular postie on many walks and different posties covering halves every day.
