Re: NIMC
Royal Mail strategy is that they only want one outward pass and one inward pass. So you now dispatch all the work to the recieving mail centre ie manchester instead of breaking it down to the neighbouring areas. The recieving mail centre will then have to break it down on the inward and of course once that is done the work will be sequenced.
It is very much crash sorting but its the basis of Royal Mail`s operational strategy which was never ever up for negotiation. In the same way as if a car factory stated to its workforce we are going to make and build mini`s next week instead of the escort.

The problem is that my office is getting NOTHING walksorted (let alone sequenced), all we're getting is the crash mail which means that everyone has to go to IPS (which results in massive cut offs).dingo wrote:Royal Mail strategy is that they only want one outward pass and one inward pass. The rumour is there are not enough staff in the MC to run the machines so we get screwed.

Is Dingo aware that you are talking about the Northern Ireland MC?
Seems strange as feck you don't get walksorted!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We're getting bagged mail from EMC now...it's like drifting back 10 years but without the resources to deal with it.DGP1 wrote:The problem is that my office is getting NOTHING walksorted (let alone sequenced), all we're getting is the crash mail which means that everyone has to go to IPS (which results in massive cut offs).dingo wrote:Royal Mail strategy is that they only want one outward pass and one inward pass. Yesterday our last van was 30mins late because the driver was told to merge 23 yorks into 15 rather than put another van on.
They have cut the M/C back to the bare bones and when it gets busy the whole thing falls apart.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Re: NIMC
Yes FT, we're also getting our MS in bags again
even a few days has really messed everything up and if it continues next week then I can see many more people cutting off more post
We just don't have the resources in the office to cope with anything other than a few trays of post because they've cut us to the bone.
