now that is a strange one, coz our dum gathered us all together this morning to tell us it was a national directive to all dums that no overtime would be paid if it's for extra work created by the industrial action. Surely our dum couldn't be lying to us . . . . . . . . . . .the result of this announcement was over 30 of our deliveries had brought mail back by the time I left, with probably more to come . . . . . . . . well done mr dum, that speech worked well.
On Monday i done a 1-15 walk,yes,by the time we went out i had 1-15 to do what i could in.
Today,we all left a line in,chances are more would come back as well.

in my office there was no overtime ban people were just delivering the back log and claiming over time as far as i know they ll get paid think i was the only 1 who streamed but went in today and felt like the bad guy as i am a floater

we phoned our area rep today to get the official CWU view on what we should be doing. . . . . once we explained the situation and what our screws wanted us to do the official line was, and I quote " f**k 'em "
The members in our office decided to work to rule from monday this week (the whole office) it was chaos for RM with only half of the deliveries getting post. The only way to hit RM is to get the customers to complain that they are not getting mail......that then triggers failures in quality which results in our performance dropping dramatically.....then the postcomm has a field day, which then gets the regulator on RM to ask them why ?
When regulator then asks RM what are you gonna do about it ? RM says nothing.........regulator asks are you not talking to the CWU ? RM reply NO ! Regulator says you better do cos we gave you 1.2Billion and the CWU are prepared for talks !!!

I totally agree that we should withdraw all goodwill and work to our 318's ( we don't have a mandate for "work to rule" so you must not suggest that, it would be illegal and you personally could be "done" for inciting illegal industrial action )
unfortunately any drop in service and complaints about non-delivery right now will be blamed on us and the industrial action so postcom will not act on these untill our dispute is over
all the guys who cut off last time was interviewed by DUM and asked if the union had told them to cut off they replied NO when i got interviewed DUM said that you dont normally cut off and i replied i have withdrawn my goodwill and until :lfo :cfo stop withdrawing there goodwill i will continue withdrawing my goodwill
I was always led to believe that no overtime would be paid, to get the high volumes of work caused during a strike cleared ?
I have heard rumours from various local offices that DOM's aren't just paying strike breakers to work during a strike day, but they're actually giving them overtime to IPS the mail, to try and cut down on the number of staff cutting-off delivery.
