Re: Questions for Weekly Resource Meetings ?
you are missing the point - WE ARE NOT GETTING PAID FOR DELIVERING THEM !!!!!Big Daz wrote:fishtank
We have carried on as before with DTD at my D.O, most if not all do them all by Friday I do 1/6th on a Saturday.
Im not arguing for any system some times I do 1/6th a day no ifs no buts sometimes I cold call and take where Im going.
Rare to get 4 items and rare for 4 items to be the majority of dels its usually the minority of dels.
Nobody has had 5 yet. Im still getting 3 most weeks but sometimes 2 sets.
When we progress with revison duties wil be planned on 1/6th a day cold calling.
Offically DTD is in workload in reality that only comes with revsision.
The revision is the reset button, not the houcus pocus of the supplement.
THE AGREEMENT HAS STARTED NOW

The agreement DOES NOT state we must do 1/6 a day
What's we not getting paid to deliver them anymore got to do with it.

It doesn't say you can't leave them all until saturday either....but that would be stupid.
Give me an argument for not doing 1/6 a day that doesn't involve chasing time both indoor and out.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Sorry, dont see the relevance of not getting paid for DTD.
Simply saying on a bit of paper DTD are in workload does not make them into workload as if by magic. Into workload requires duties to be adjusted and duties in my D.O are unchanged from pre agreement as there is time galore being made and its rare for anyone to get 4 sets and nobody has had 5 yet. Paymen and ESA has been replaced by a supplement is the only REAL difference at my D.O
The revision WILL put DTD into workload in REAL terms as DTD contracts will be taken into account when planning indoor workload. The task is to ensure the time given is enough.

So what happens in an office that is getting 5/week? Where "time galore" isn't being made?Big Daz wrote:

Duties need to be adjusted yet the revision may be years down the line.
And then you have the problem of people being brought in from other offices to cover duties being told they don't have to do 1/6 D2D, leaving the regular postie with an even greater workload.
We have 2 full yorkies of undelivered D2D with no system in place for disposing of them.
To go back to the original point about having problems discussing these problems with management - I think the original poster might be my rep.
.....offices that have not deployed delivery methods revisions will have to provide genuine and demonstrable solutions to any weight or volumetric issues.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Cut off?
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

You'll never get mass cut offs with D2D.POSTMAN wrote:What, mass cut offs so many times a week does not bring a solution!![]()

Firms hardly get them, rurals don't have the calls, only some of the office get 5 some get none...and then there's the flyers the DOM's pets and the plain stoopid and like CCR says the guys coming in from other offices making up the rules as they go along...before you know it you've got guys isolated.
D2D into workload is a tricky b*****d that's the reality POSTMAN...it sounds simple on paper and from a members point of view it is....but from a reps.

What ARE these reps doing?
stop using their cars
take their break
stop coming in early
do the job properly
stop chasing time and giving the DOM the ammunition to shoot everyone
etc
etc
etc

Re: Questions for Weekly Resource Meetings ?
A s**t hole - yes.
But you have to think about how we have got into this mess.
A lack of clear and effective communication from higher up.
Reps in cahoots with DOMs to get themselves an easy ride.
DOMs with a clear agenda taking the piss out of a workforce with no agenda except "Job and Finish" (early).
Most people when they go to work don't want the addded stress of arguing about cutting off. If the easiest way to avoid that is to give 20 minutes free each day, or use your car on delivery, then that is what they will do.
Meanwhile those that are still making time out of the job ensure the culture in the office is "run around and screw everyone else."
