Same as Evr depends on your age, have a look at the mtsf agreament should be on hear. But you give a quarter of your future pension up as well. And if you leave you have to pay some back unless you get Evr. Also if evr came avable your pay off would be less beacause your hours are less.

does anyone know, who actually sanctions the buy down of hours, and what sort of time scale it takes. Do they give you an a yes or no straight away. Its a tempting, but big decision to take the buy down. thanks for any responses.

A lot depends on what is happening in your office, you can't just have a buy down willy nilly.
If you have vacancies at your place for instance then you will not get a buy down.
If for instance you are fully staffed and your revision pushes a 40hr duty to say 30 hrs then you can have a buy down to that duty.

That is what happened at my place,i'm guessing it's standard.

Can anyone confirm or move it on anymore.

Thats pitiful, in the long term you lose out, i would not go down for that, in the long term I can make that in overtime.

ok, thanks to all who responded. Would you say a fair time scale to sort it out would be a couple of months? would like to get it sorted soon.

AFAIK there is no time-scale.

The Buy Downs and EVRs all form part of the preference exercise that happens as a result of revision activity.

We were due a revision late last year and I requested details on a non binding buy down. 1 Year later I have heard nothing so please don't make any major plans on getting a quick response.

how long ago was that, and did it take very long to sort out. What is the process it follows as there seems to be a lot of different things going on at different postal offices?,. ps. you glad you made the choice.
