BOLTON family firm Parcel2go.com says it is on track to smash its £17 million sales target as it scoops up Royal Mail customers.

Richard Adams-Mercer, son of founder and chief executive Fil Adams-Mercer, claimed Royal Mail strikes last year and in 2007 benefited the Bolton firm. He said: “Our business doubled overnight.

“The great thing is we managed to hang on to those customers and we hope we’ll continue to do so.”

Parcel2go.com operates an internet portal so individuals and small and medium-sized businesses can arrange deliveries of parcels by carriers such as FedEX, DHL and City Link.

The company is particularly popular with people using online trading site eBay as parcels are collected directly from sellers’ homes and delivered anywhere in the world.

A recent online boom in revenue has been attributed to the underlying growth trend in companies with a turnover of more than £1 million worth of trading on eBay.

Parcel2go.com employs 35 staff at its Coe Street offices and handles more than 750,000 parcels a year

:hmmmm Do they actually handle anything or do they just act as middlemen? And TBH £17million turnover is not a great amount but I suppose they'll put up some sort of faux news story on their YouTube page :chuckle

just a go between .....they just get you the cheapest price from one of the main carriers if you apply on net should you have an account with them .....they've the clout ... only 35 staff all automated computer for a start so their overheads are lower ........ to get you cheaper prices than say if you directly approached DHL etc to deliver the same parcel .
MURDERERS. Need to dispose of a body? Simply parcel it up and post it to yourself via DHL. You will never see it again.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
