A MEMBER of staff at Royal Mail’s delivery office in Henley has been suspended following an investigation into missing mail.

It is believed the woman may face charges after investigators raided her home in the town and discovered undelivered post.

A spokesman for Royal Mail said: “An employee from Henley delivery office was suspended in June and subsequently resigned following an investigation and the recovery of a quantity of undelivered mail. Royal Mail has a zero-tolerance approach to any dishonesty and that stance is shared by the overwhelming majority of postmen and women, who are honest and hard-working and do all they can to protect the mail and deliver it safely.

“We will always seek to prosecute the tiny minority of people who abuse their position of trust.”

The delivery office in Reading Road employs 51 Post Office staff and serves the RG9 postcode area.

Is it my imagination or have there been a lot more of these recently...............either RM have saved them all up and are doing them en masse or maybe the work load is really too much these days :hmmmm

ps. We could just be employing the wrong people but then that would also be the fault of the management
