Re: Can you complete your duty within your contracted Hours
Mine is a yes,and 99.99% of the time my office is a yes.
The mail drop and the summer lull makes it that way.
What will happen after the summer in the autumn and so on,i'm hoping we'll get hammered all of us and a lot of the work come back.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Why? It is a simple enough question. Can you complete your duty on time?gb93 wrote: To the Thread![]()

Maybe some people don't want to know, or just don't care.

Why are you so concerned about if others can complete their duty on time.pinstripe wrote:Why? It is a simple enough question. Can you complete your duty on time?gb93 wrote: To the Thread![]()

If it's because of genuine concern for others struggling and you want to do something constructive to help them out then
If it's because of the green eyed monster of others finishing earlier than you

I agree and also between indoor and outdoor work.ronpetetrevchris wrote:i think the vote should delineate between -If you did the job properly could you finish on time?
Part-timers are on the whole less senior and much more likely to be on a duty they don't know so the results of this poll are iffy.....
It takes me 45-50mins to prep my entire duty first letter to last and packets although that's with sequenced mail, the main reason for this is not because i'm particularly fast but because it's my duty,i know it inside out and i could prep it in my sleep.kingofmcr wrote:im part time and it depends if its ready when i get in ..the other day had to throw over an hours mail off .sort 2 bags of packets ..do a ton of redirections ..didnt get out till 11.35
Stick a reserve on it who doesn't know it and he's an hour later getting out and 30-45mins longer delivering it.
Doesn't matter if he's full-time or part-time.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Holy crap Batman, 2 hours plus for my (and most others) duty and nothing has ever been said about our prepping abilities, there does seem to be massive differences in duties all over

To be fair DGP my duty is 3hrs 10mins not the 4-5hrs that yours is.DGP1 wrote:It takes me 45-50mins to prep my entire duty first letter to last and packets

Obviosly any increase in delivery span will bring with it an increase in prep.

Re: Can you complete your duty within your contracted Hours
No, it's neither. It's a general poll to see whether there is a difference in completing duties, full time compared to part time. Nothing more, nothing less.gb93 wrote:Why are you so concerned about if others can complete their duty on time.pinstripe wrote:Why? It is a simple enough question. Maybe it's more to do with fast or slow people, young or old, or compitant or imcompitant.
The whole FT v PT is becoming boring to me anyway.
