Campaign against Postal Privatisation: National Event/Brief

Post by Geezer »

Letter to Branches

No: 731/10 Ref: GS 11.0 Date: 26/08/10

(To all Branches)

To: The Branch Secretary

Dear Colleague

Campaign against Postal Privatisation: National Event/Briefing – 9th September

Further to LTB 658 & 724/10 announcing and giving details of the arrangements for the above, a number of queries have been received by CWU HQ regarding attendance at this briefing.

The purpose of the briefing is to appraise branches of the political campaign we are conducting in response to the announcement by Government of their intention to privatise Royal Mail.

With that in mind CWU HQ believes it appropriate that Branch Secretaries and Branch Political Officers should attend this briefing. Additionally Branches can send individuals who will be directly involved in the campaign. However the venue has strict limits on numbers for attendance and with that in mind Branches who wish to send more than those listed above should seek to limit the attendance to no more than 4 people.

The intention of the briefing is to outline the actions to date, how the campaign will evolve and invite constructive suggestions in order to make sure the campaign is a success. Hence the point made that the briefing is aimed primarily at those who are likely to be involved in delivering the campaign on the ground.

Yours sincerely

Totally agree with you :Applause Then ask yourself which aspiring career politician decided to restrict attendance and input to such an alarming degree?
Hardly all inclusive ,or a spiffing start to a campaign of mass involvement is it, according to that LTB, admittance will be as open as Cleggs secret bank account
