Nope....it only knows when you turn the key.

the pda's can also do basic checks to pinpoint your whereabouts,

The pda's have basic gps but the software doesn't relay this information when it sends.......yet.

Nope...no key and why would you need to ident the driver when your name is in the drivers log.

Talk about BIG BROTHER! I was recently talking to a BT guy who was being disciplined for going off his route ( I believe BT have had the spy in the cab for quite a while) Sounds like the ideal tool for a "Control Freak" DIM

We need a colleague with the technical know-how to "Confuse" these systems just like they have in all the best Thrillers Doesn't take a lot to Confuse the DIM, just trying to work out his duties list is enough

Telemetry is NOT installed in all royal mail vans. Our office vans have not got them and have no plans yet, you can tell a van with telemetry as it will have a magnetic login beside the ignition key in FIATS and beside the 12v power output on the Vauxhalls.
My van broke down once and the garage brought another van from a diff office which had it installed, i didnt know and hurried around the run as i was late and got a little lecture about it a few weeks later, was lucky nothing else happened over it, my dom had a sheet with everything i done that day eg braking conering etc Needless to say i have been in a few more telemetry vans since nad have been ok in them. lol
