But it was half-naked women fighting - if I remember rightly.
Clash, who are you kidding? Now that's not the sort of image you struggle to remember.

DGP will be very disappointed if he missed it.

Surely that should be the basis of free speech.
what I deleted was not that - but if they did post that then it would probably have been deleted by another Mod on the basis of "pornographic nature" as we have a mixed audience and no age restriction on here.

Grow a back bone and stand up for yourself ffs. If your stressing about stupid things like cutting off or running round your delivery in order to finish on time then there's something wrong and picking on fulltimers on here isn't the right way to address it. Your allowing yourself to be walked over by management and your afraid to stand up and tell the manager he is asking the impossible of you.
Why should the most vulnerable people in the office be expected to stand up to managers? (Those recently in the door/temporary contracts/dependent on the goodwill of managers for o/t)
Why don't we have a complete change of mindset: the f/t staff prep the p/t walks to the standard required before leaving(fully prepped/bagged up whatever) and if that means they don't have enough time to complete, they stand up to the managers. This should be easy given that they all have grown a backbone.
Why should f/t staff leave early if they haven't completed the prep of the p/t frames?
BTW - I am f/t.

And whoever deleted post_bitch's last post - you have done us all a great disservice. :no no
People should stand up for themselves regardless, if you don't you'll be walked over and picked on that's life. We try in my office to look out for the new starts, to tell them where they stand, what a manager can or cannot tell them to do and a I've shot a manager down once for telling a new person right next to me that not completing because he didn't want to book O/T is wilful delay.

Regarding doing the prep of a part timers walk, the manager normally asks us to go prep walk "X" for 30 mins. So I go prep it for 30 mins not until it's all done but for 30 mins as asked, sometimes someone else comes to take over when I've done my 30 mins sometimes not but that's how it goes in my office. If it's a walk I know I can make a dent in it but chances are it isn't so in 30 mins I'm not going to get a whole lot done. If a manager was to tell me to prep a part timers walk until it was tied up and bagged up then okay but they won't because I wouldn't be getting out the door with my walk until gone 11am which would mean I'd have to cut off or claim. They instead try to rotate us 30mins at a time doing the prep on a part timers walk, in theory assuming everyone doing the prep knew the walk it would be done but that isn't the case.

None in my office leaves early, we all are allowed to leave once the miss-sort run has been done, the managers have checked none has left anything in the sorting frames and checked our delivery frames are clear. Then we all get told we can go, sometimes it's a little early but the most it will be is 10 minutes.

What office do you work at I like the sound of this going out early for an early finish it sounds great!

Being part time wouldn't be half bad... stroll in late after a nice lay in bad, no prep done on the walk for me, stand there doing the prep and by the time I'm finished I can only take out one bag :nana :nana

Face it you guys have it easy so stop whinging.

Managers should walk around the office and say to people nobody leaves the office till all walks are thrown off and frames checked, the posties that are anxious to get out are always the ones that come in early, after a few weeks of this it would sicken them, the penny might drop then, I blame mangers for the way the part timers come in and get stressed out, they are suppose to bag up and go, but they have lots of misorts, redirections, and killing off to do, not to mention putting their door to doors together, its a piss take basically, that's why no part timers last.

That wouldn't work, all that would happen is the managers would get buried under a mountain of cut off bags.

You are correct the managers do treat the part timers like crap and it isn't fair but they have to shoulder some of the blame for how they are treated because they are allowing it to happen as does any full timer with a few years in that stands there and says nothing while this s**t happens.

In fairness, we shouldn't tar everyone with the same brush. Some FT posties are spot on, others are just bone idle. I'm PT and have done a heap of already prepped walks. The rule in our DO is that walks must be tied down, packets marked, redirections done, ready for the PT'er to come in, lift it and leave. Delivery only, in other words. In our office, some will have it ready to go like that (although very few). The majority, however, will just leave once they throw the last letter in. They might drag the packet bag over to the frame, they might not. Obviously there are also the select one or two who, because they're not delivering it, don't give a damn and prep all sorts of crazy missorts in there. I would swear Ray Charles came in and prepped mine on Wednesday, it was that bad!

Not all part-timers are supposed to "bag up and go".
If you are 30hrs you should be prepping your own walk,if you are 25hrs you should be doing some prep or at least the D2Ds.If you are 20hrs it would be delivery only etc.

That depends on the delivery span.
We're not all 3.5hr deliveries.

Know what you mean fishtank. But you get the same heads who'll try to get away with doing as little as possible, regardless. Same in every DO, I would imagine.

I can see how it could be annoying if you wanted to finish for a certain time.Nothing stops you from doing so really anyhow.
Just say "can't do it,paid till one, sort it"
But if i was on 5 hours a day i'd be happy with a bit of OT tbh.

used to be like this on a regular basis when I did 4 hours a day, Now im on six I dont have to worry about it :nana .But I tel you what I have seen of late, fulltimers saying that they dont have time to finish throwing a walk off,yet have time to take a collapsed?.and this is fine by management :hmmmm .so some poor fecka has to come into and finish off at 10,get wrapped up and out the door,oh,,, and deliver it,all under 4 hours?(not forgetting hs collapsed too lol)Possible?no way.
