The likelihood of a thief happening along a parcel that you've hidden is not very great, whereas the likelihood of it pissing down and ruining Mrs. Higgins complete collection of Agatha Christie's is probably pretty high.[/quote]

You dont work in our area then,,,The chances of delivering to someone who isnt a thief on some of the estates I go on are pretty low,,,!!!

Golden rules :-

- Dont put your bag down and leave it out of site for even a second. (As if anyone would do that anyway !!)

- Take plenty of elastic bands to appease the miniature natives.

- Approach all open doors with caution as you walk up the path,,,You just know that staffy is waiting silently for you to step through the gate.

- Dont post things too loudly,,,You might interrupt Jeremey Kyle,,

- Be prepared to have written out your 739 on numerous occasions and posted it only to be chased by some bod in a dressing gown two minutes later.

Having never had any training I am thinking of putting myself forward to contribute to the training manual..Sink or Swim with RM,,, :Very Happy

"Also I know the bin collection day for the area and would not leave anything near a bin on those days".

I had to race the recycle collection truck to a property in which i had just left a packet in one of the bins (with permission from the owner). Luckily i managed to salvage the packet before it was tipped into oblivion. Safe to say i don't leave ANYTHING in any form of bin anymore, even if the owners request it. Besides, there are plenty of scrotes knocking around the areas i work that have been known to "tail" posties waiting for them to doorstep. You can't always trust the house owners either, I once hid a packet in a specified place after the owner had requested in the event they are out. The next day i was informed by my LM that it had been nicked! Either i was tailed by a scally that somehow had the combo code for lock on the bin cupboard it was locked in or the owner was lying...I can't for the life of me think which one it is :hmmmm

It's not worth the risk, especially when some people are willing to use the posties best intentions to make a quick buck.
