What is the difference between a OPG and a AG?

Got this query on my Facebook,i don't know what an AG is. :neutral:
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

OPG is operational postal grade and I think technically we're all OPGs aren't we?

AG is basically a part timer. Like me.
Does this rag smell of chloroform to you?

They can keep it. I wouldn't work in London. Got to go there next week en route to France and I'm not looking forward to it.

Yes,,AG seems to be the buzzing acronym in our office,,particularly when they are looking for some bod to do an extra half a walk,,!! I think they have exhausted all the TLAs that mean the same thing and are now looking for as many two letter ones as they can find to create extra confusionitus,,, :crazy:

Well, TBF, HMF no longer use TLAs AFAIK - they are now referred to as MLAs :Very Happy

Does this mean I can now put AG after my name (as well as the BA(Hons) and OPG) :hmmmm

:crazy--When I first started we were Assocciate Grade civil servants--true and the A.G applied to both full and part timers, trhen you had thre P.HG. Both titles were lost about the the time of SDD or maybe a bit before that and we became Ordinary postal grade.

Way Forwards/Backwards depending on your perspective was the start of OPG grade.
