Well I sorted them on packets and they come in bundles of 8 or so - the label on the top gave delivery due dates as Mon 16 Aug - Fri 20 Aug 2010 - Took a fair amount today and will deliver rest spread over week.Glenno wrote:Yer got quite a few years in too
But at the same time, the Q still stands: where do you get your info from?
If its a Local thing then fair doos, youve got it sorted
The reason I ask is that there was an issue over this recently and I am on
a info finding mission![]()

Well, at least it's summer and the mail's dropped off.Jimmy Carr`s laugh wrote:Saturday , Matalan catologues for about 30% of my delivery, big chunky things, weight the earth!
Monday , Xmas catologues, heavier than the Matalan ones by about another 1 and half times, though not as many, maybe 100
Tuesday , Sainsburys magazines, a bit like a thick sky mag, about 300 of them
Whatever next ?? The heavy days (wed/thu/fri) havent started yet
Seriously, I can relate to your post. In my opinion, this has been the busiest summer I've ever known, no real significant drop in volume to speak of.

why dont these companys who send out these heavy catalogues ..check that they are not sending out 2 or 3 of the same to one address ..ONE is enough grrrrr ..same with banking reports ..sometimes 5 thick letters each with a report ..pointless ..ONE for all the occupants is enough arrrrrrrrrrrgggghhhhhh..and dont start me off on BINGO cards ..why send one when eight will do ..

Definitely the heaviest summer I can remember. Just hoping this means maybe we wont be hit with the usual september avalanche as alot of the s**t that we are getting now usually turns up then!

Another cat amongst the pigeon smilie please...
I remember when these BB things 1st came out,i think i read it in the courier that it's one week.
Interestingly we had some this week and the DOM said 2 days,we didn't have a lot of them so i did not argue the point.
The BB PDF'S are in downloads, but unfortunately it does not give a time scale, thanks Glenno...

With regards to the 1 week delivery thing,i am near enough 100% sure that is right.BB Postings wrote:Are we expected to take these out in pouches?
No. All RM Heavyweight items above 1kg will be delivered by vans. In some instances it may be operationally feasible to use High Capacity Trolleys for low volumes.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

If I'd been told I had two days to deliver forty (the day after I got another ten, so fifty in all) of those catalogues I'd have gone mad. Literally mad as well.

Not always that simple though is it?
there will always be a high majority for the same bag.
