Does any of this go on in other offices. When we come in the morning we have a isle where we do the sorting, there is normally about 7 of us sorting, but the DOM comes down the isle every morning and picks the same four people to throw walks off.

One guy in the office snapped the other day and asked the question !Why is it you pass 3 people on the isle everyday and ask the same 4 people to throw off walks, surely its flexibility so use it instead of picking or selecting the same people.
The problem is that the 3 people are mouthy and the managers are s**t scared to ask them.
The 4 posties seem to think they are shite at sorting, while the other 3 has it real easy.

Some posties come back early and have to do a second absorption, but the managers never ask the mouthy ones.
Just wondering if that’s the case elsewhere..Favourites come to mind???

Yup, every office I've been to I've seen the same sort of behaviour. They're also strong characters who tell other people what they should be thinking/doing.

They get what they want because it's "easier" for the manager to let them have their way.

Management take the line of least resistance.

If they're faced with someone who's going to kick off or someone who'll comply, not difficult to see what's going to happen.

Doesn't make it right and it aggravates the hell out of the good guys seeing the gobshites getting away with it all the time but management are either too weak or too lazy to attempt to resolve issues fairly.

I'm one of the mouthy ones in my office and as such I am left alone, but then I am doing a 6 hour delivery so all I have to do is mention the relief word and the manager shuts up and goes on to the next person.

thats whats happend in all offices now once over we would all tell managers were to go but now most ov the staff are wimps now and the managers love that

A WTL session we a had quite a while ago we were asked if any of us required specific items of uniform, so I replied " can I have one of those cloaks of invisibilty that so and so has", got quite a laugh but not from the DOM.
It goes on everywhere,its lazy management,it used to wind me right up but I've learned there not gonna change into good managers so I let it just wash over me.I do me 8 hours and thats it.

Its not a" hard man image" its just having balls to stand your ground and to let the management know that they cant walk all over you.!

I speak up when a colleague is being shafted, and am always told by the lazy lino that it doesn't concern me. If it impacts on the person and the rest of the staff in the DO then it does concern me!

With some linos a little knowledge is a dangerous thing - good job we have many who know more than them!
