WoofWoof

I rang area and asked the same question yesterday and was told ( by the branch Sec who spoke to the Area Rep ) that they had heard nothing about any training for Office Reps !
So the people who have to sit in and argue the case for their office are left fighting DSM's,Planners and Dom's who have all been on courses and to workshops to help them screw us over,
while we are left out in the cold to just fumble are way through it without the training needed to check what the planners are doing is right. :arrrghhh

Fortunately though the Div Reps have had two days training  That's so they'll know what they are talking about - the unit rep? well he's not important in the big picture HE'S ONLY THE ONE WHO HAS TO IMPLEMENT IT

Spot on DVB

But when i ring the ADR he says, that's something else for me to find out about then leave it with me.
But the problem with this is RM are still pushing forward, while were waiting to get answers to the questions we have raised.
Another example for you about how RM in my area are pushing things at a pace, My Dom said to me today " come and look at this " i forget what the tool was called
bit it tells you what stage you are at in a revision, well we haven't even signed of on phase 1 yet, but according to the tool we have just started on phase 3.
Now i have only just put in a stage 1 disagreement last week about resourcing and if this isn't sorted by tomorrow i will be putting in another about this.
It would be funny if the consequences weren't so serious, because it's the Local Reps who are going to get all the flack if it goes tits up.

Ah yes Geezer - Confucius say "many questions grasshopper" ADR says "answers to follow" - of course the process keeps rolling and then you are faced with the problem of being in the forefront when the kak hits the fan, the members look to you and hey ho you're the one who let this happen because you didn't follow the non existent guidelines or guidelines that appear after the event.

A joint workshop for self enabled units due in my area, finding a date is tricky due to main summer A/L period.

This should be what the agreement talks about.

The Divisiional Reps went on a pilot 3 day course . There will be other training courses.

What we have agreed in London as not every rep wants to get involved in every aspect of geo route or the IWT is to have a CWU revison rep for each area , these reps have already been on a 3 day course and will be going on an additional 4 day course. Their role is to assist each area rep and give him advice.

The reason why the Divisonal reps went on the intial 3 day course is that we were still highlighting areas of iwt which needs extra work and geo route hence the live testing.

Each local rep should have the option to go on a planners 3 hour iwt course.

In London most local reps are currently measuring using the old tried and tested wheel measurment tool to ensure all the measurements within the office are correct and all the data.

I dont know what other divisons are doing or other reps but certainly in London we are going to ensure local reps are supported and assisted in all aspects of the revison.

There again we tend to not just moan we act and ensure that local offices are supported hence we did not allow offices last year to be picked off on their own without a fight.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Nothing! Never had a visitation, information or clarification - unless you count the liaison rep for Simpson and Miller to get people to join the CWU - today as it happens.

Dingo

Ever since this fiasco started i have asked and asked about courses for office reps, I have talked to branch sec at least 20 times about it, i have asked Area Rep on about 4 or 5 occasions and every time i get told none have been planned.
Now as DVB says while i await info or to get on a course RM push things ever forward.I still have so many questions unanswered by Area Rep, Dom and Planner on IWT that I'm starting to pull my own teeth out.
The DSM for my Area has me down as a marked man telling my Dom I'm militant and just trying to find faults so i can stop the Revision for my DO from moving forward.
Well i can tell you my office is in no way afraid of a Revision and as i have said before if it is done fairly i truly expect it to say hours should go in.
( Yes i know they wont put any more in but it would give us argument to stop any more being taken out )
The trouble with all of this is DSM's just want hours out at any cost and have no interest in running any of these tools fairly and by the book,
which makes it more important than ever that the local Rep has the Training and backup needed to make sure everything is done properly with no corners cut.

Seems this is all over the country and why not for their plan is CDV's less vans less cost at all costs and DRAW is part and parcel of this in that you will get the few posties who think they can save time for themselves and carve up the job too further their career and DRAW is part of that why do you think it is being pushed so much at this time?.
