Re: No More Overtime
Surely the flex thing is in principle just like being on call. So like other workers required to perform outside contracted hours you should be paid an enhanced rate for those "on call" hours wether or not you were required to perform?
Bye

Re: No More Overtime
Sorry for laughing, mate......but MY FREE TIME, is MY FREE TIME, for me, and me alone, to decide how I spend MY TIME.youwot!!!!! wrote:the flexibility agreement means that they can expect you to work UPTO 30 MINUTES past your finish time and that you can start later the next day,but it is only to be used in emergencies and not every day so it can't be used against you in many siyuations.![]()
If I should ever decide to to sell RM some of my free time, unlikely as that may be, it will be ME that makes that decision and not my DOM.
Compulsory overtime is a big NO/NO, whatever shyte agreement is made between RM and the bunch of mugs who are supposed to safeguard our terms & conditions at work.
The flexibility part of the seriously wanky "Pay & Modernisation" agreement, has to be the most dodgy aspect of all the nonsense contained in it.
It attempts to ride roughshod over basic human rights, civil liberties, in fact, anything remotely decent that marks us out as free men and women, and not slaves, property of the company.
Nah, even an area manager tried to convince me that he could dictate as to how I spend my time once my contracted hours are up, needless to say, he got nowhere in the end.

Ive got the same attitude as you Harry, though i think its only a matter of time before they find a way of getting rid of us and it dosnt help when an area rep signs of an agreement saying he agrees with flexing.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: No More Overtime
Without the docket grabbers there would be 4 or 5 walks a day left in our office - one day last week there were 3 walks left and only 2 managers to do them

Re: No More Overtime
If you're going with the last agreement, 2007 was it? The flexitime in the agreement was 30minutes for the full week, not just a single day. So going with the agreement if you are prepared to be flexible then if the DOM going with the agreement can only ask you to flex up for 30 minutes a week. And if you do flex up, then you have to get the 30mins back in the same week. So if they ask you to be flexible on a Sat god knows how you get that back in the same week. RM for ya!

Re: No More Overtime
There is no flex on a Saturday, for the reason you've stated. Any overtime you do that day is exactly that.... overtime.crockboy wrote:If you're going with the last agreement, 2007 was it? Now wether you wish to perform overtime on a Saturday is another matter....
