Concerns have been raised about the future of Chiswick Post Office after a resident was told by a Royal Mail worker that the parcel collection service is set to move to Acton.
The comment came when the resident went to the collection office, adjacent to the Post Office on Heathfield Terrace, to complain that the collection from her local post box was consistently made earlier than the stated time.
During her conversation with the employee at the counter she was informed that that section of the building had been sold and Chiswick residents would have to make their way to the Acton sorting office on Bollo Lane in future.
A Chiswick councillor commented that the collection office move had rumoured for some time although the Council had not been formally notified.
We have asked the Post Office to comment on this matter and await their response.
