Dont know if its relevant but I know that our DOM has been instructed that from this week onwards there is to be no overtime paid out under any circumstances.

This might sound dumb,,but here goes,,whats s/a? or s/a payments?.(right now thats out the way )

Our office this week has stopped ALL part timers coming in early to throw off a walk or IPS.apparently this is going to be absorbed by fulltimers.I dont know how this is possible in our office,as there must be at least 6+ P/T staff doing this at the moment.We have also had managers throwing off 2 walks a day at our office.

Yes I have heard this rumour as well. I don't think it's a loan which was rumoured to be asked for but some insurance bond!

Who knows whether it's true? However it is true that royal mail has a cash flow problem at the moment hardly surprising given the investment they have put in thus far in Cdvs , CSS machines etc and given the fact very few revisions have come in.

I also heard the same rumour last week, someone just threw it into a conversation, we just laughed and dismissed it.
I asked a LM where our new D.O. is going to be built, he did'nt know but said the union did

S/A is scheduled attendance which is an agreed overtime at slightly higher than overtime payment for collections etc .

I think they either mean payment for said S/A or the S/A holiday pay where you get paid an amount dependent on how many S/As you have done over the year.

There is a rumour going round my office (Reading) that RM have had to go to the goverment to ask for an emergency loan because they are unable to pay the wages beyond the next 2 weeks. it started last Wednesday , I dismissed it at first because I thought the news networks would surely get hold of it and if there was substance then surely it would be a nationwide rumour rather than just local, nothing on the news on nothing on these pages yet.
but today the same rumour resurfaced again, I am a firm believer that there is no smoke without fire..can any BMs confirm if they have heard the same alarming talk or is it just some idiot sh*t stirrer taking balls?

Well if they don't pay you ,don't turn up for work until they do,cos they are in breach of contract

There was a similar rumour about the US Postal Service last summer.
I can't see any Government allowing it's postal service to go to the wall.
We all know the outcry from big business when their mail is even delayed during periods of industrial action.
