Re: joint statement on deliveries due out
what ever hapened to the cwu central control
or is it a foregone conclusion that hayes & ward dont give a stuff about others with the exception of course london ......'the streets of gold'
thought they would at least have a look at areas and even offices that have gone outside the remit of the crap agreement they brokered ( because of weak reps , area, regional ) but i supose it's every man for himself now that pay & mod is inplace ............makes you wonder just what we get out from our subs

Flex up in average traffic??? So basically they'll be doing revisions on the lightest of weeks possible. Meaning when it's a below average traffic week, we'll be utilising every hour of ever day?? If it's an average traffic week they'll be wanting us to "flex up"?? Meaning we'll not have enough time each day to complete our deliveries?? And do we flex up and flex up again when it's an above average week and they'll be expecting us to work until it's dark?? Am i picking this up correctly?

You couldn't have picked it up any better than that.crockboy wrote:Flex up in average traffic??? So basically they'll be doing revisions on the lightest of weeks possible. That's exactly the strategy and even the managers in my place are nervous of this.

Re: joint statement on deliveries due out
They are already flexing up where I live. My personal mail was delivered this week at 7.25pm, 6.15pm and 5.45pm. on three consecutive days. I dont know why there are posties prepared to work to these hours. Even if you are really struggling financially, surely 4pm at the very latest. I live on the edge of a city, so I dont know what has happened to the Universal service Obligation, but what I do know is that the DOM is hitting hours like they have gone out of fashion. Hours where posties have retired recently have not been replaced in total. Part timers taken on and we are getting shafted for the prep work. Posties drafted in to cover holidays, with no prior knowledge of the rounds, and we are having to bail them out, so that they can finish in reasonable time. This job has gone to the wall, and the CWU should be ashamed of their involvement in it.

Re: joint statement on deliveries due out
I really appreciate the updates you provide, but sometimes you do seem to be a little out of touch with the pressure being bought to bear on Reps, DOMS and planners. We have our Area Rep over every week, and we still have a job, using the agreement to get things stopped, the other week the Rep had at least 1 disciplinary a day - AT LEAST 1! We've at least 1 serious wilful delay going through now.dingo wrote: No one can argue that every issue is being drilled down on to ensure that revisions are correct , but if local offices allow managers to do what they want then that is their fault, the engagement process should ensure that local offices are protected.
In our office we're trying to sort out post CDV revision (pushed into it by both RM and CWU highups) we really didn't want to do it, but tried to make the best of it, so the CDV revision isn't sorted yet, and a couple of weeks ago we did phase 1 & 2 of the WSM revision. We are getting a lot of pressure from RM, because we're not making the saving they wanted, we have a cluster manager telling our DOM to sack people for wilful delay etc.
The DOM has had his job threatened.
Now regarding revisions at the moment we have the planner on our side, because he believes his figures are correct and other in RM are not generating the figures correctly, how long this will last I don't know. I'm worried we'll soon be getting pressure from the CWU itself.
So Dingo - what are we supposed to do? Any useful answers will be gratefully received, because unless you experience this kind of pressure yourself, then I'm afraid it would seem you are talking out your ass.

It seems the CWU have forgotten how to use the ancient art of drawing lines in the sand.fishtank wrote:You couldn't have picked it up any better than that.crockboy wrote:Flex up in average traffic??? Get a grip CWU! open up the workload debate to the membership
and let us know what you WONT agree to.
