Royal Mail is issuing two new Machin definitive NVI stamps for customers using its Special Delivery™ Next Day service in Post Office® branches.
The distinctive silver and blue stamps will be used by Post Office® branch teams, and available for sale from Tallents House, from Tuesday 26 October 2010.
The stamps will be available for the two most frequently used weight steps of Royal Mail’s Special Delivery™ Next Day service, which guarantees delivery by 1pm the following day.
The two new stamps are for items up to 100g (price £5.05) and for items up to 500g (price £5.50).
Horizon labels will still be used in Post Offices® for other Special Delivery™ Next Day weight steps and Special Delivery™ 9.00 am.
Like the Recorded Signed For™ stamps issued in November 2009 these new Special Delivery™ Next Day stamps will have a flash up the left side stating the service in words, with the weight steps in text alongside the Machin head, a bas relief by Arnold Machin.
The stamps are printed in the blue and silver colours of the Special Delivery™ brand and have the security features of the semi-circular slits and the Royal Mail name printed in a wave pattern.
Royal Mail’s Special Delivery™ Next Day service guarantees delivery before 1pm to 99 per cent of the UK, with proof of posting, online tracking and electronic proof of delivery and up to £2,500 compensation.
A First Day Cover will be available from Tallents House for this issue.
