Re: New uniforms
We got told the old uniform isn't going to be allowed once the new one is in and that after a "grace" period to give everyone's orders time to arrive and to swap items that are to big or to small over posties caught not wearing the new uniform will be conduct coded. Not gonna go down to well me thinkskrussel wrote:Yep i know we would turn red and i think it looks bloody awful. We got people wearing their own clothes, white trainers and a few old duffers wearing RM jackets from 3000BC made of Mammoth hide and full of fleas.
Well i would like to see it
You try to get new uniform without getting a manager to phone up and beg on your behalf. The old uniform will phase out as the time allows, i think its 2 years for a coat now.
With ref to the old coats and fleece's they were actually a better quality much like the old trousers which did not turn purple after a couple of washes.

Re: New uniforms
Yeh but these jackets pre date the Harringtons or the fleeces. They look older than me and I'm 29, the RM logo looks ancient....

Re: New uniforms
There is a size guide on rm intranet under uniforms.
Ask your line manager, assuming he can be arsed to print some off

Re: New uniforms
I did the same as you when I thought that they were going to withdraw the blue shirts. Turns out that it wasn't necessary. There is a blue shirt included in the new uniform. Only differences being the new version is slightly paler in colour and the collar isn't button-down.krussel wrote;

Surprising that they are issuing it so soon! I thought they would get rid of most of us first and then roll it out!

Re: New uniforms
Why are people stock-piling blue shirts ? The new uniform has a blue (paler) shirt anyway...

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: New uniforms
Apparantly the cagoule is only going to be available for those on walking/ cycle deliveries, not for vans according to the bumf that came with my order form.
Which is handy considering they're getting rid of the bikes, just about sums up Royal mail
