A POSTMAN has been convicted of causing a crash in Aberdeen when he was more than double the drink-drive limit.
Thomas Wallace, 46, denied driving while over the limit and claimed he had knocked back vodka before police arrived at his Aberdeen home inquiring about the collision.
But Sheriff Edward Savage found Wallace guilty of five charges. He was convicted at Aberdeen Sheriff Court of driving while over the alcohol limit as well as careless driving.
The dad-of-two was also found guilty of failing to leave details at the scene, failing to report the crash on Aberdeen’s Great Northern Road to police and failing to confirm he was the driver involved.
The postie, whose address was listed in court papers as xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, Danestone, Aberdeen has now been banned from driving until he faces his full punishment next month.
